We are hiring for Engineer - Quality-Incoming Inspection for our client, MNC in Chennai location

Position Description

Job Title: Engineer

Department: Quality- Incoming Inspection

Location: South India

Direct Reports: Quality Manager

Type of Hire: Full-time employee

Candidate Profile - Minimum Requirements

Required Qualification: Diploma or B.E. Mechanical / Metallurgy

Work Experience: 6 to 10 years of experience in a similar role

Preferred Industrial background: Valve manufacturing industry

Job Summary (Areas of Responsibility)

  • Perform incoming inspection on incoming purchased parts, subassemblies or finished product according to the engineering drawing and/or customer standards.

Core Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Capable of Interpreting: Perform Incoming inspection on purchased parts, subassemblies or finished product according to the engineering drawing and/or customer standards.
  • Review of Material Test Reports (MTR), and Certificate of Conformance (CofC), against relevant standards and specifications.
  • Generate Non-Conformance Reports as well as other internal departmental reports as assigned.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standards.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements are met in a timely fashion.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and be able to read and understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), at novice level.
  • Conduct record keeping via digitized means (e.g., document, drawings)
  • Computer literacy with standard software application and demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment such as but not limited to micrometers, height gages, calipers, dial indicators, and bore gages to inspect per company standards
  • NDT Level II in VT, PT, MT, UT, is preferred, be able to read reports for review and acceptance.

Relevant Experience

  • Experience in valve and actuator manufacturing or automotive industry
  • Experience in Supplier audit.
  • 1-4 years of experience working with metal materials & soft goods.
  • Certification in NDE methods, PT, MT, UT and RT, certified as Level 2, preferable.
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015, PED, ISO17025, ASTM, API, standards.
  • Working knowledge with MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other soft documentation systems.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems beneficial
  • Experience in preparing material test certificates in accordance with ASTM and PED
