Job Description

  • Lead the plant quality assurance team, responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of products manufactures at their respective plants. Overseeing overall manufacturing quality assurance processes, conducting audits, obtaining CAPA reports, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process performance. Focus on new product developments and executing robust manufacturing quality management processes to deliver defect free components that meet company standards and customer expectations. The plant quality lead sets and maintains high-quality standards, resolves quality issues, and fosters strong relationships with stakeholders to enhance overall quality performance.
  • Leadership: Lead the Plant Quality team members and establish the quality assurance procedures, including inspection plans, process audits, and product certifications, to ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and customer requirements to ensure alignment with organizational standards. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the product quality requirements and developing a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in Quality performance.

Operational Oversight

Manage day-to-day quality issues related to process and product and ensure the appropriate actions are taken to resolve these issues promptly. Analyze, verify, and monitor incoming, in-line, process, Assembly and customer rejections, taking necessary corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and driving continuous improvement. Improve the plant quality processes and procedures to ensure adherence to industry best practices. Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and take corrective actions as necessary. For ECN changes and new products, review the inspection reports, and provide the assembly fitment feedback for robust product quality development. Co-ordinate with cross functional team and monitor development statuses and strive to achieve the target of a first-time pass rate in all processes.

Process Optimization

To work towards zero-process defect and quality excellence in products manufactured. Identify areas of improvement within existing processes, develop, and implement solutions to streamline workflows and eliminate inefficiencies. Identify the gaps and optimize the assembly and winding quality assurance processes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and overall quality performance. Initiate, drive and conduct the regular audit to identify the process variations and take necessary actions accordingly. To conduct critical process capability study for process improvement.

Quality Assurance

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and customer service, to identify and address quality-related issues and drive effective corrective and preventive actions. Non-conformance parts data verification and drive the corrective actions with the appropriate stakeholders and report for daily meetings. To support on NPD trials, and FSIR activities and setup the quality processes including measurements for the SOP. Ensure on meeting the quality requirements at incoming, in-processes and in the final assembly and Testing areas to meet robust product quality, Identify and drive the Quality improvement ideas/suggestions in all the processes. Execution of Quality audit as per the control plan to address system inadequacy and system Non-adherence.

Resource Management

Plan for the required resources, measurements gauges and other requirements for the assigned plant to ensure robust quality management process. Foresee the challenges and derive action plan to ensure effective resource management.

Training And Development

Execute the competence-skill matrix, identify the gaps and training needs. Provide training and development opportunities for the Quality team and other appropriate stakeholders for ensuring the delivery of defect-free parts. Identify training needs related to advanced quality processes and ensure that the team remains capable of meeting quality standards and objectives.

Technology Integration

Stay informed about advancements in their commodity process and analytical tools, recommend and implement new technologies to improve the quality of parts from supplier and resolve the quality issues effectively.

Budget Management

Prepare the budgets of their respective areas, monitoring expenditures and implementing cost-saving measures.

Collaboration

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, Production and customer service to identify and address quality related issues and to drive corrective and preventive actions.

Reporting

Update and follow-up on the key quality metrics derived for the assigned plant, execute the root cause analysis on the metrics not met and drive the action plans. Plan and drive internal audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and requirements, and collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to address any identified non-conformities or areas of improvement. Report the plant data for the weekly reviews and for the MRM meetings.

  • Bachelors or diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 to 8 years of progressive experience in Quality operations, with at least 02 years specifically in Process Quality Assurance role.
  • Strong leadership skills with interpersonal skills capable of meeting the set QA metrics, and aligning with organizational objectives.
  • Experience in quality assurance methodologies, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), PPAP, MSA, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA), etc.
  • Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes, including testing techniques and quality control methods.
  • Hands on experience in Problem-solving skills to identify, analyze, and resolve complex quality issues effectively using methods like 8D, A3, DOE, etc.
  • High skilled Process and Product auditing experience.
  • Sound knowledge of quality management systems and methodologies specific to engineering industries processes, such as ISO 9001:2015.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with a proactive and CFT approach to addressing challenges.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and foster a positive and productive work environment.
