Our client needs a
senior Oracle Database Engineer to run
mission-critical production databases and
automate Oracle DBA operations using modern DevOps and scripting. This is hands-on work. It's fast. It's high stakes. And you'll juggle multiple projects at once.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support enterprise-scale Oracle databases in production
- Design and maintain Oracle RAC and Data Guard architectures
- Handle patching, upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning
- Manage backup and recovery using RMAN
- Monitor databases via Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
- Support cloud deployments on OCI and AWS
- Automate repetitive DBA tasks using Ansible, Git, and scripting
- Work with Agile delivery teams across parallel projects
- Ensure stability, security, and high availability in regulated setups
Mandatory Technical Skills (Non-Negotiable)
- 8+ years in large enterprise environments
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- Oracle Database Administration
- Oracle RAC
- Oracle Data Guard
- Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
- RMAN (Backup & Recovery)
- Patching & upgrades
- Performance tuning & optimisation
- Database migrations
- Solid experience with OCI and AWS
- Strong SQL and/or PL/SQL
- Strong Unix/Linux administration
- Experience in Agile delivery models
- Proven automation using:
- Ansible
- Git
- Bash and/or Python
Nice to Have (Good bonus, not a deal-breaker)
- Jenkins and Groovy
- Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
- Exposure to other database technologies
- Banking / financial services experience
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree (CS or equivalent) Mandatory
- Oracle / Cloud certifications Preferred
