Engineer - Network Monitoring System(NMS)

Key Responsibilities

Network Monitoring & Alert Management

• Monitor network health using Orion Network Monitoring System (NMS), covering routers, switches, servers, VoIP devices, UPS, and other infrastructure components.
• Track device performance thresholds including CPU, memory, hard disk utilization, and temperature levels.
• Identify performance degradation and proactively act on alerts.

Incident Management & Escalation

• Troubleshoot circuit issues with carriers and coordinate with vendors for hardware-related problems.
• Escalate issues to the relevant teams (Network, Server Owners, etc.) as required for resolution.
• Publish outage alerts and maintenance notifications via forums during change management or downtimes.

NMS Administration

• Manage the Orion monitoring tool by adding, modifying, or deleting devices as per operational requirements.
• Work with the SolarWinds support team to resolve any technical errors or performance issues with the NMS tool.

Infrastructure Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain up-to-date infrastructure inventory for IDC and branch locations.
• Update the IP Subnet Scan Database regularly.
• Prepare and publish daily, weekly, and monthly reports on network performance and incidents.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or Electronics preferred.

Experience

• 25 years of experience in Network Monitoring, IT Infrastructure Support, or NOC Operations.
• Prior hands-on experience with Orion NMS / SolarWinds tools is highly desirable.
