DESIGNATION: ENGINEER
ROLE: SHIFT IN CHARGE (BLAST FURNACE OPERATIONS)
AREA IN CHARGE OF: CONTROL ROOM, CAST HOUSE, PCM.
DEPARTMENT: BLAST FURNACE OPERATIONS
REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER BLAST FURNACE (OPERATIONS)
LOCATION: KHUNTI, CHOWKA-KANDRA ROAD, JHARKHAND
Responsibilities
- Production Optimization: Maximize daily hot metal production while maintaining consistent quality within specified limits. Oversee areas of Control Room, Cast House, PCM, Dry GCP, Stove.
- Fuel Efficiency: Minimize coke rate and optimize fuel injection (coal, oil, gas) to improve thermal efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Process Stability: Monitor and control key process parameters (blast temperature, pressure, top gas composition, etc.) to ensure stable and efficient furnace operation.
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve process upsets (e.g. Low production, abnormal temperatures) to minimize downtime and production losses.
- Performance Monitoring: Collect, analyze, and interpret process data to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on blast furnace performance, including production, efficiency, and cost data, for management review.
- Equipment Monitoring: Monitor the condition and performance of critical equipment (e.g., tuyeres, coolers, stoves) to identify potential problems and plan maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum Experience of 5 -7 Years in Blast Furnace Operations.
- Diploma / B. TECH in Metallurgy/Mechanical Engineering
