OpenShift DevOps Engineer (Disconnected / Air-Gapped Environments)
Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and skilled OpenShift DevOps Engineer to lead the deployment of containerized applications on Red Hat OpenShift in Disconnected (Air-Gapped) environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with OpenShift in restricted networks, strong DevOps practices, and the ability to replace Azure managed services with self-hosted, on-premises alternatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy existing containerized applications from AKS to OpenShift in a disconnected setup (no internet access).
- Set up and manage OpenShift clusters in air-gapped environments, including:
- Mirror registries and image lifecycle management
- Disconnected installation and cluster upgrades
- Operator and Helm chart management
- Adapt and manage Helm-based deployments for OpenShift compatibility.
- Work with OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF) for storage solutions.
- Replace Azure managed services with self-hosted equivalents:
- PostgreSQL → CloudNativePG
- Service Bus → RabbitMQ
- Redis → Redis OSS
- Azure Storage → Ceph / ODF
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions in disconnected environments.
- Ensure security, compliance, and observability across the OpenShift ecosystem.
