Job Description

Job Title: Network L1 Engineer

Experience: 2-5 Years

Location: Tata Nagar Jamshedpur (NOC)

Shift: 24x7 Rotational Shift

Department: JSR Network Operations Center (NOC)

Certification CCNA & Fortinet Firewall (Preferred)

Key Responsibilities

Very good Understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting of Network Connectivity
Knowledge of OSI model, IP Addressing & Subnetting, , routing protocols like OSPF, BGP is must.
Basic knowledge of MPLS is must.
Hands-on experience on Cisco Routers and Switches.
Monitor network & SD-WAN devices and circuits using NMS tools.
Identify and respond to alerts related to:

a.WAN link failure

b. SD-WAN tunnel down

c. High bandwidth utilization

d.Device CPU/Memory threshold breaches

7.Perform L1 troubleshooting:

a.Interface status check

b.Link up/down verification

c.VLAN reachability check

d.Basic routing table verification

e.Verify routing status and BGP/OSPF neighbor state.

8.Perform initial troubleshooting before escalating.

9.Create, update, and track incidents in ticketing tools (Service Now).

10.Coordinate with ISP/vendor for circuit-related issues.

11.Assist during planned maintenance windows.

12.Validate post-change network health.

13.Perform health checks before and after changes.

14.Documentation & Reporting

a.Maintain incident logs.

b.Prepare daily/weekly reports:

c. Link availability

d.Incident summary

e.SLA compliance

15. Update network inventory records.

Must Have

Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must
Candidate is ready to work in shift whenever required.
