DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Interaction: Engages customers courteously and professionally, ensuring prompt and efficient attention to customer needs. Identifies additional service opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Diagnosis and Repair: Applies specialized tools and follows documented procedures to diagnose and complete less complex repairs on engines, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
- Preventative Maintenance: Performs preventative maintenance activities according to documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field.
- Issue Escalation: Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor for further assistance.
- Service Documentation: Completes required documentation, including service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents, through handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Training and Development: Completes required training to maintain and enhance skills in line with business needs.
- Vehicle and Tool Maintenance: Maintains service vehicle and tools to ensure cleanliness and proper operation.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Adheres to all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any incidents to site management and supervisors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Education, Licenses, and Certifications:
- Diploma in Electrical and Electronic preferred with experience in Powergen segment.
- Locally valid driving permit
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Skills:
- Diagnostics Application: Translates customer complaints into troubleshooting plans using guided workflows, specialized tools, and diagnostic software. Validates repairs by duplicating complaints to ensure issue resolution.
- Electronic Service Tool Application: Identifies and uses the appropriate electronic tools for service events, diagnosing issues and determining next steps for service resolution.
- Engine Systems Interactions: Analyzes interactions of electrical and mechanical systems (e.g., exhaust, cooling, fuel systems, driveline, aftertreatment, controls, sensors) to diagnose and repair engines efficiently.
- Product Repair and Maintenance: Repairs and maintains mechanical/electrical products, disassembles and assembles engines or power generators, inspects and replaces parts, and performs progressive damage checks to restore equipment to pre-failure condition.
- Service Documentation: Captures and verifies customer, equipment, and technical information, and follows procedures to document required information accurately.
- Technical Escalation: Gathers technical issue information, uses data management tools, escalates complex issues as needed, and ensures accurate troubleshooting documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
This role is for Data Centre Support Technician with Qualification in B tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
