About the Role
Pinaka Green is an early-stage green hydrogen solutions company operating across two pillars — Developer (BOO/BOOT projects, Hydrogen-as-a-Service) and Services (advisory, PMC, market research).
We are hiring a Research Analyst to build and own Pinaka Polaris — a comprehensive market intelligence platform for India's green hydrogen economy. Think Bloomberg of green hydrogen: every GH2 company, project, tender, policy move, technology trend, and price benchmark in India, tracked and kept current. The role starts with database build-out, expands into weekly intelligence and sector deep-dives, and grows into the research and consulting backbone of the company — with clear runway to Head of Research over a 3–5 year arc.
Why This Role
• Direct founder access — work daily with a CEO who brings 19+ years across BG Group, Shell, and QatarEnergy (IIT Bombay, IChemE Chartered Engineer). Investor meetings, client pitches, strategic calls — you'll be in the room.
• Own Pinaka Polaris from day one — this is not a support role. The portal is yours to build, shape, and scale into a paid platform. What you create becomes the foundation of a revenue line.
• End-to-end business exposure — investor conversations, BD pitches, feasibility studies, regulatory interactions, industry events. You'll see how a green hydrogen developer is actually built from scratch.
• Front-row seat to India's energy transition — green hydrogen is moving from pilot to commercial scale over the next 3–5 years. You'll track, and help shape, the most important story in Indian clean energy.
• Compressed career arc — Analyst to Head of Research in 3–5 years is realistic for a high performer. Equity consideration for standout performers after the 3-month assessment.

Position Snapshot
Engagement
Contractor / Independent Consultant (retainer basis) — not salaried; no HR / PF / gratuity. Simple retainer agreement with 3-month initial assessment.
Location
Gurugram, Haryana — in-office, desk-based role. Occasional travel for conferences and primary research.
Experience
0–3 years. Freshers actively encouraged.

Compensation
₹6–8 LPA equivalent (retainer), commensurate with experience. Performance-linked bonus and equity consideration after assessment period.
Start date
Immediate — rolling basis. Outcome within 10 days of application.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and continuously update a comprehensive database of India's green hydrogen ecosystem — electrolyser OEMs, developers, EPC, storage, transport, offtakers, advisory firms, financiers — segmented by value-chain role, technology, geography, and funding stage.
• Maintain a live Projects Tracker of every announced / under-development / operational GH2, green ammonia, and green methanol project in India — capacity, technology, developer, offtaker, location, timeline, milestones.
• Track policy and regulation (SIGHT, NGHM, state policies, PESO, BIS), tenders (SECI, NTPC, IOCL, GAIL, DISCOMs), technology trends, CAPEX benchmarks, and LCOH trajectories; publish implications for industry.
• Produce a Weekly Market Pulse (1–2 pages) and monthly sector deep-dives (pharma, refineries, fertilisers, steel, diamonds, data centres, mobility) for the Pinaka Polaris portal.
• Own portal taxonomy, tagging, editorial voice, and content cadence; work with the tech team on search, filters, and the rollout of tiered subscription products (free / premium / enterprise).
• Support the Founder & CEO with research for client engagements, LCOH and techno-economic model inputs, investor pitches, BD proposals, and syndicated / bespoke research products sold by the Services pillar.
• Supplement secondary research with primary work — targeted outreach, industry event coverage, short expert interviews, RTI applications, and quarterly proprietary research projects.
• Use AI tools and basic / vibe-coded automation (Python scripts, web scrapers, n8n or Make workflows, AI-assisted code via Claude or Cursor) to auto-update the portal on a regular cadence — news monitoring, project status changes, tender announcements, company profile refreshes — so the database stays live with minimal manual effort.
Qualifications & Attributes
• Bachelor's in engineering, economics, policy, commerce, finance, energy studies, or journalism. Prior exposure to energy / infrastructure / consulting is a plus, not a filter.
• Rigorous secondary research ability — company filings, regulatory databases, industry reports — synthesised into structured outputs. Clear analytical writing: can turn messy information into a crisp one-pager.
• Strong Excel / Google Sheets (pivots, lookups, data cleaning); comfort with Notion / Airtable; comfort with quantitative analysis — financial statements, project economics, energy units.
• Fluent use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, NotebookLM) for research workflows. Basic coding literacy or strong willingness to vibe-code — using AI assistants to write small Python / JavaScript snippets, build web scrapers, and automate portal updates. Prior exposure to Lovable, Cursor, Emergent, Replit, GitHub, n8n, or similar is a significant plus.
• Self-starter, high speed and high accuracy, genuine curiosity about the energy transition, and comfort with ambiguity — the role, the portal, and the company are all evolving rapidly.
