Job Description

Role: Electronic Trading Data & Platform Remediation Analyst

Contract Type: Temporary Contract (Inside IR35)

Location: London (Hybrid - 1 day remote)

Duration: 6 months

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional to support a targeted programme of work focused on improving the integrity, availability, and governance of electronic trading data across broker platforms and execution venues.

The successful candidate will work closely with Trade Services, brokers, technology teams, and the Electronic Trading Risk team to remediate gaps in End-of-Day (EoD) trading data, enhance the inventory of trading venues and execution platforms, and evaluate methods for capturing and storing trading data from broker systems where automated feeds are not currently available.

This role will play an important part in strengthening operational transparency, improving data availability for risk oversight, and enabling more robust monitoring of electronic trading activity.

Key Responsibilities1. End-of-Day (EoD) File Remediation
  • Perform a detailed review of current End-of-Day trading file availability across broker platforms and execution venues.
  • Work with Trade Services (TS) and broker counterparts to confirm whether EoD files are being generated and transmitted as expected.
  • Identify and investigate instances where brokers indicate they provide EoD files but files are not currently received or ingested by Trade Services.
  • Coordinate with internal technology and trade support teams to troubleshoot file transmission or ingestion issues.
  • Where files are available but not integrated into existing workflows, work with relevant teams to establish reliable file delivery and ingestion processes.
  • Maintain documentation of data flows, file specifications, and data dependencies to support operational transparency.
2. Data Extraction from GUI-Based Platforms
  • Identify broker platforms and trading venues that do not provide automated EoD files, but where trading data is available through graphical user interfaces (GUI).
  • Analyse the feasibility of extracting trading data from these platforms through:
  • Manual download processes
  • Automated scripts or scraping tools
  • API integrations where available
  • Design practical solutions for capturing, storing, and managing this data in a structured format for internal reporting and risk monitoring.
  • Pay particular attention to primary dealer auction platforms, where automated data feeds may be limited or unavailable.
  • Work with technology teams to explore sustainable solutions for recurring data extraction.
3. Broker File Integration
  • Identify brokers who can provide structured trading files but where such feeds are not currently integrated into internal systems.
  • Engage with brokers to confirm file formats, delivery mechanisms, and frequency.
  • Work with Trade Services and internal technology teams to implement new data feeds.
  • Support testing and validation of newly implemented file feeds to ensure data completeness and reliability.
  • Establish monitoring mechanisms to ensure ongoing file delivery and integrity.
4. Venue and Execution Platform Inventory Development
  • Support the systemisation and consolidation of the firm's inventory of trading venues and execution platforms.
  • Engage with downstream data owners and operational teams to identify existing internal data sources that capture venue or execution platform information.
  • Map and consolidate these data sources to build a centralised and structured inventory.
  • Work closely with the Electronic Trading Risk team to define the structure, fields, and governance of the inventory.
  • Ensure the inventory includes relevant attributes such as:
  • Platform type
  • Broker relationships
  • Data availability
  • Connectivity method
  • Regulatory classification where applicable.
5. Data Integration and Inventory Automation
  • Identify opportunities to automate the population of the venue and execution platform inventory through integration with existing internal systems.
  • Assist in designing processes to pull data from multiple sources and maintain an up-to-date inventory.
  • Work with data owners and technology teams to establish sustainable data pipelines where possible.
6. Volume Data Feasibility Assessment
  • Assess the feasibility of capturing trading volume data from key broker and venue user interfaces.
  • Investigate potential technical methods for extracting volume information where automated feeds are not available.
  • Document the limitations, risks, and potential operational approaches for capturing this data.
  • Provide recommendations on the practicality and cost-benefit of implementing such solutions.
Deliverables

The role is expected to deliver:

  • A remediation plan and progress tracking for End-of-Day file availability.
  • A validated inventory of broker platforms and execution venues.
  • Documented data extraction approaches for GUI-based platforms.
  • Implemented or proposed solutions for missing broker data feeds.
  • A feasibility report on extracting volume data from broker and venue UIs.
  • Documentation of data sources, file flows, and platform connectivity.
Required Skills & ExperienceEssential
  • Strong understanding of electronic trading environments and broker platforms.
  • Experience working with trading data, file feeds, and operational trade support processes.
  • Ability to analyse data flows, interfaces, and system dependencies.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including technology, operations, and trading desks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to document processes and design practical operational solutions.
Desirable
