Job Summary:
We are looking for a hands-on Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty on the shop floor. You will be the bridge between physical machines and our cloud platform. Your core mission is to design, procure, and install the hardware required to successfully extract data (cycle times, power consumption, etc.) from heavy industrial machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research & Procurement: Act as a smart buyer. Identify, negotiate, and source reliable, cost-effective sensors (Inductive Proximity, Current Transformers (CTs), Pressure, and Temperature sensors) capable of surviving dusty, high-heat industrial environments.
- Panel Building & Integration: Take complete ownership of the hardware setup. Wire and assemble enclosures perfectly, including MCBs, Surge Protectors, and 24V Power Supplies to protect our gateways from factory power fluctuations.
- On-Site Hardware Installation: Travel to client manufacturing plants to physically mount IP65 enclosures, securely route wiring, and ensure safe, industrial-grade physical installations.
- Machine Retrofitting: Master the setup of Split-Core CTs for precise power monitoring and Inductive Proximity Sensors for accurate machine cycle counting.
- Protocol Translation & Networking: Configure edge gateways to successfully read machine data via Modbus RTU (RS-485) and ensure stable communication.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Act as the first line of defense for hardware failures. Use multimeters, serial debuggers, and logical troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve wiring or communication issues on-site.
- Technical Documentation: Create clear, standardized wiring diagrams and site-specific installation guides for every machine type to ensure our deployments are scalable and easily maintainable.
Domain Expertise Required (Hands-on experience with the following):
- Machining: CNC Turning Centers (Lathes), CNC Press Bending Machines.
- Molding & Forming: Plastic Injection Molding Machines, Power Presses / Stamping Machines, Die Casting Machines.
- Cutting: Bandsaws / Automatic Saws.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics & Communication (EC), Instrumentation & Control (IC), or Mechatronics.
- Experience: 1 to 4 years of hands-on experience in factory automation, machine maintenance, or panel wiring.
- Expertise in reading and creating electrical wiring diagrams/schematics.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols, specifically Modbus RTU (RS-485).
- Deep knowledge of electrical safety standards, MCB sizing, and power supply protections.
