Job Description

Electrical Engineering Expert (AI Training)

About The Role

We're looking for experienced electrical engineers to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models. Your deep technical knowledge will directly shape how AI understands and reasons through complex engineering problems — from circuit analysis to power systems to signal processing.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering and artificial intelligence, contributing to some of the most advanced AI research happening today.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design Challenging Problems — Create advanced, domain-specific electrical engineering problems across areas like circuit analysis, power systems, signal processing, electromagnetics, and control systems to rigorously test AI capabilities
  • Author Gold-Standard Solutions — Write precise, step-by-step technical solutions and benchmark responses that AI models use as ground truth for learning
  • Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated code, circuit diagrams, and mathematical proofs for technical accuracy, safety, and compliance with engineering standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC)
  • Sharpen AI Reasoning — Identify logical flaws and gaps in AI reasoning, then provide structured, actionable feedback to improve how models think through engineering tasks
  • Stress-Test the Model — Challenge AI on topics like embedded systems, VLSI, signal processing, control systems, robotics, and engineering simulations — documenting failure modes to harden model performance

Who You Are

  • Holds or is pursuing a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • Strong foundational expertise in one or more core areas: VLSI, control systems, telecommunications, power electronics, or signal processing
  • Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and precisely in written form
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented when reviewing equations, circuit logic, and technical documentation
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on an async, flexible schedule
  • No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in data annotation, data quality, or AI evaluation workflows
  • Familiarity with engineering simulation tools or formal verification methods
  • Experience writing technical documentation or academic papers

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside world-leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — set your own hours and workload
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and collaboration with a global expert community
  • Gain firsthand exposure to how large language models are trained and evaluated
  • Meaningful work that advances the reliability of AI in technical domains
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
