Electrical Engineer

About the Role:

•Lead a team of electrical engineers in the design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems for biogas plants.

•Ensure the team's work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

•Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electrical engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.

•Delegate tasks effectively and motivate the team to achieve common goals.

•Oversee electrical projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to budgets and deadlines.

•Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including plant operators, maintenance personnel, and project managers.

Key Responsibilities:

•Electrical Design & Engineering:

oDesign, develop, and implement electrical systems for biogas plants, including power distribution systems, motor control centers, instrumentation and control systems, and safety systems.

oPrepare electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications for all electrical equipment and systems.

oPerform electrical load calculations, short circuit studies, and voltage drop analysis.

oSelect and specify appropriate electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgears, motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and instrumentation.

oEnsure compliance with all relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).

•Installation & Commissioning:

oOversee the installation and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems, ensuring proper wiring, grounding, and safety measures.

oConduct site inspections and supervise electrical contractors during installation and testing.

oCommission and test electrical systems, including power distribution, motor control, and instrumentation systems.

oTroubleshoot and resolve any electrical issues during the commissioning phase

•Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

oProvide technical support for the operation and maintenance of electrical systems within the biogas plant.

oDiagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems, including motor failures, electrical faults, and control system malfunctions.

oPerform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, such as motor inspections, insulation testing, and thermographic surveys.

oMaintain accurate records of all electrical maintenance activities.

•Instrumentation & Control:

oDesign, install, and maintain instrumentation and control systems for biogas plants, including sensors, transmitters, PLCs, SCADA systems, and data acquisition systems.

oConfigure and program PLCs and SCADA systems to control and monitor biogas plant operations.

oAnalyze process data and identify areas for improvement in plant efficiency and performance.

•Safety & Compliance:

oEnsure compliance with all electrical safety regulations and best practices.

oConduct safety inspections and implement safety measures to prevent electrical accidents.

oTrain plant operators on safe electrical practices and procedures.

oEnsure proper grounding and bonding of electrical equipment to minimize electrical hazards.

•Research & Development:

oStay abreast of the latest advancements in electrical engineering and automation technologies relevant to biogas plants.

oExplore and implement innovative technologies to improve the efficiency, reliability, and safety of biogas plant electrical systems.

oConduct research and development activities to optimize electrical systems for specific biogas plant applications.

•Leadership and Management:

oProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electrical engineers.

oDelegate tasks effectively and motivate the team to achieve common goals.

oOversee electrical projects from conception to completion.

oCommunicate effectively with all stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.

•5+ years of professional experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems for industrial plants, preferably biogas plants.

•Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

•Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including power systems, control systems, instrumentation, and electrical safety.

•Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar tools.

•Experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric).

•Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
