Job Description
TheElectrical Engineer will be accountable for the design, development, anddocumentation of electrical systems and control panels in compliance withapplicable standards and project specifications. This role requires strongtechnical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate withcross-functional teams to deliver reliable, efficient, and cost-effectivedesigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development
- Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings, and control panel layouts using CAD/CAE tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
- Design LV, MV, or HV systems (as per project requirement), including power distribution, control, and instrumentation circuits.
- Select electrical components (switchgear, PLC, VFDs, sensors, protection devices, cables) based on technical specifications and standards.
- Project Coordination
- Review project requirements, technical specifications, and client documentation.
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and instrumentation teams for integrated system designs.
- Provide technical boost to procurement, production, and commissioning teams.
- Compliance & Standards
- Ensure designs comply with IEC, IS, NEC, and other relevant electrical codes and standards.
- Incorporate safety, reliability, and maintainability considerations into designs.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare BOMs (Bill of Materials) and technical datasheets for electrical equipment.
- Review and approve vendor drawings/documents.
- Maintain design files and revision history for future reference.
- Testing & Commissioning Support
- Support factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
- Provide troubleshooting boost during installation and commissioning.
Education
Qualifications & Skills
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience
- 5 to 7 years in electrical design for industrial projects.
- Experience in designing control panels, power systems, and automation-related projects preferred.
TechnicalSkills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN.
- Strong comprehension of electrical components, PLCs, MCCs, and drive systems.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and grounding systems.
- Familiarity with load calculations, cable sizing, and short-circuit inquiry.
