The Opportunity
Hydroleap is hiring an Electrical Engineer to own the electrical design of our water and wastewater treatment systems, from concept drawings and equipment specification through to panel wiring, testing and commissioning. You will work as part of the engineering and project delivery team on systems deployed across Singapore and the wider APAC region.
You will produce the design deliverables yourself, coordinate submissions with local authorities, and support the project team on site during FAT, SAT and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Design: Plan, design, review and prepare electrical drawings and specifications for water and wastewater treatment systems.
- Drawings and Documentation: Prepare General Arrangement (GA) and equipment layout drawings, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), control schematics, electrical wiring diagrams and related drawings using AutoCAD.
- Specifications and Schedules: Prepare electrical equipment, drive and cable specifications, equipment technical schedules and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Calculations and Sizing: Perform electrical equipment and cable sizing, selection and calculations.
- System Design: Design lightning protection, small power and lighting systems.
- Authority Coordination: Coordinate with local authorities on consultation and submission requirements.
- Panel and Electrical Works: Carry out control panel wiring and related electrical works.
- Testing and Commissioning: Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and provide engineering support during testing and commissioning.
- Technical Problem-solving: Resolve technical difficulties and other issues that arise during the project.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of relevant electrical design experience; experience in water or wastewater treatment projects is an advantage.
- Proficient in AutoCAD for electrical drafting and preparation of engineering drawings.
- Familiar with local authority requirements and international electrical standards.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team to meet project timelines and budgets.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
