About the Role

We are looking for a technically skilled and hands-on Electrical Engineer to support the testing, quality inspection, commissioning, and customer support of power quality equipment and electrical systems. The candidate will be responsible for testing and troubleshooting transformers, Dynamic Voltage Restorers (DVR), Active Harmonic Filters (AHF), APFC systems, and associated electrical panels and power electronic systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Testing & Validation

  • Perform electrical testing and functional testing of:
  1. Dry-Type / Serial Transformers
  2. Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR)
  3. Harmonic Filters / Active Harmonic Filters (AHF)
  4. Automatic Power Factor Correction (APFC) Systems
  5. Associated electrical panels, protection systems, and power electronic equipment.
  • Conduct pre-commissioning, performance, and functional tests as per approved test procedures and technical specifications.
  • Measure and analyze electrical parameters such as voltage, current, power factor, harmonics, THD, efficiency, and power quality.
  • Perform testing using power quality analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, and other relevant equipment.
  • Prepare test reports, inspection reports, and testing documentation.

2. Quality Inspection

  • Conduct quality checks of transformers, DVRs, harmonic filters, APFC panels, and associated equipment.
  • Verify equipment against approved drawings, BOM, technical specifications, wiring diagrams, and quality requirements.
  • Inspect electrical wiring, busbars, components, terminals, protection devices, control circuits, and panel assembly.
  • Identify deviations, defects, and non-conformities and coordinate with the concerned engineering/manufacturing teams for corrective actions.
  • Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and final quality clearance of equipment.

3. Customer Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide technical support to customers for DVR, harmonic filter, APFC, and power quality-related issues.
  • Analyze field problems related to voltage fluctuations, voltage sags, harmonics, power factor, overheating, alarms, trips, and equipment performance.
  • Review and analyze Power Quality Analyzer data and field measurements to identify the root cause of problems.
  • Coordinate with customers, service teams, and internal engineering teams for troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Support site commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance verification when required.
  • Prepare service reports and technical recommendations after site visits.

4. Commissioning & Site Support

  • Participate in installation, commissioning, and performance testing of power quality systems at customer sites.
  • Verify electrical connections, control signals, protection settings, communication, and system functionality.
  • Support load trials and performance validation of DVR, harmonic filter, and APFC systems.
  • Travel to customer sites for commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical support as required.

Technical Skills Required

  • Strong fundamentals of Electrical Engineering and Power Systems.
  • Good understanding of Power Quality parameters and problems.
  • Knowledge of voltage sag/swell, harmonics and THD, power factor and reactive power, active harmonic filtering, APFC systems, transformers, power electronic converters, and electrical protection and switchgear.
  • Ability to read and understand single-line diagrams (SLD), electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical testing and measuring instruments.
  • Basic knowledge of power electronics, IGBT-based converters, control systems, and industrial communication will be an advantage.
  • Good troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel and technical documentation.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • B.E./B.Tech./Diploma in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • Atleast 2 years of experience in electrical testing, commissioning, quality inspection, power quality, power electronics, transformers, or industrial electrical systems.
  • Candidates with hands-on experience in DVR, AHF, APFC, UPS, voltage stabilizers, power quality analyzers, or transformer testing will be preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites for testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
  • Strong problem-solving attitude and willingness to work hands-on with electrical equipment.
