- Procure electrical components such as:
- PLCs, HMIs, VFDs
- MCCBs, MCBs, ACBs
- Contactors, Relays, Timers
- SMPS, Transformers
- Terminal Blocks, Connectors
- Push Buttons, Selectors, Indications
- Cables, Cable Glands, Lugs
- Panel Accessories and Busbar Materials
- Generate and process RFQs, purchase orders, and procurement documentation.
- Source materials from approved vendors to meet production schedules.
- Monitor market trends and identify alternate suppliers for cost reduction.
- Develop and maintain relationships with electrical component manufacturers and distributors.
- Conduct supplier evaluations based on quality, delivery, and pricing performance.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and annual contracts.
- Resolve vendor-related issues such as shortages, quality concerns, and delayed deliveries.
- Review BOMs (Bill of Materials), GA drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Verify technical specifications before placing purchase orders.
- Coordinate with design and production teams for component selection and substitutions.
- Ensure purchased materials comply with project specifications and standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimum stock.
- Coordinate with stores and production departments for material requirements.
- Track material shortages and expedite critical items.
- Support inventory control activities and stock audits.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through strategic sourcing.
- Analyze procurement costs and prepare comparative statements.
- Monitor material consumption and reduce procurement lead times.
- Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and purchase history.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies.
- Coordinate with accounts for invoice verification and payment processing.
- Support ISO and quality management system requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 3–8 years of experience in electrical procurement, preferably in control panel manufacturing, automation, switchgear, MCC, PCC, or industrial electrical projects.
- Experience in purchasing components from vendors such as Schneider Electric, Siemens, ABB, L&T, Allen Bradley, Delta, Phoenix Contact, Weidmuller, Omron, etc.
Required Skills Technical Skills
- Knowledge of electrical control panels, MCC, PCC, PLC panels, and automation systems.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and BOMs.
- Understanding of electrical standards and specifications.
- ERP/MRP software knowledge (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
