Job Description – Electrical Engineer
• Good Academic background, sound in Electrical Construction, with a keen interest in managing customers and sub-contractors at site.
• Report to E&I lead for all construction activities and to be based at site.
• Must possess good interpersonal skills and communication skills.
• Ability to plan day to day electrical activities at site, liaising with other discipline vide Mechanical, Civil, Piping for release of work front.
• Ability to maintain good relations with all stakeholders.
• Minimum of 5 - 15 years of experience in Construction of Electrical works in Oil and Gas Industries. Process plant, steel plant, petrochemical complex, etc. including installation/ testing/ commissioning of Electrical substations (GIS), HV/MV/LV Panels, VFDs and VSDs, MCCs.
• Experience of independently handling of Electrical Construction, preferably on a contractor side in Oil and Gas Refinery, Petrochemical, Steel Plant, Power Plant or Pipeline Experience, Track record of HSE Leadership.
• Must have quality consciousness and willing to perform the work as per project specification within predefined time schedule.
• Experience in interpretation and application of IEEE and other relevant international codes and standards.
• Knowledge in equipment erection, plant cable laying, Cable tray installation, testing and commissioning of all HV/ LV electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of area classification and international codes and practices applicable in refinery and petrochemicals is added advantage.
• Planning of material, resources, execution, cost control awareness and reconciliation activities of Electrical works with Sub-contractor, planning and PMC.
• Experience in scheduling of projects to meet project milestones and maintain construction resources to acceptable levels.
• Ensure to achieve the project objectives in line with HSES, quality, cost and schedule requirements.
• Active involvement in progress of field activities to ensure scheduling milestones and understanding critical activities for delivery of committed dates.
• Active in upgrading sub-contractors work performance and drive focus on Quality of work and a strong Safety culture.
• Actively ensure to note down the field design modifications and scope changes.
• Certification of measurement of work from PMC/ Customers.
• Certification of Measurement of the work done by the subcontractors.
• Liaised with Company executives and Project Managers to acquire resources to move project forward.
• Determined and scheduled priorities as required for site progress.
• Recommend improvement for design and Construction means and materials based on field or changing conditions.
• Installation of Electrical works with compliance with drawing and specifications.
• Monitor and Control assigned project.
• Ensure project deliverables at site and initiate appropriate corrective action in case of deviation.
• Establish plan for efficiently organizing work and site facilities to meet agreed deadlines.
• Site co-ordination and review with respect to productivity and standards.
• Ensuring means to achieve target.
• Subcontractor coordination and appraisal.
• liaising with client, consultants, subcontractors and general workforce involved in the project.
