Job Description

Design Engineer Electrical will be responsible for the overall design delivery of the Electrical systems. The role will include design, coordinate and provide design calculations, drawings, specifications, BOQ and other technical documents for tender and operating projects. The person also needs to coordinate with site execution team and vendors to ensure that design is followed, and T&C is done accordingly. He/she should have expertise in all types of building projects like airports, hospitals, railways and metros, public spaces like stadium, malls, hotels, convention centre, offices/IT buildings etc.

  • Awareness on Indian and International Standards pertaining to Electrical System.

Responsibilities - For Tender Project.

  • Capability to quickly understand the project and preparing queries in coordination with the manager/immediate supervisor.
  • For details which are not available in tender, the candidate should be capable of providing the design anticipating the necessary requirements as per standard norms, codes and best engineering practices.
  • Preparation of Service Inputs w.r.to Electrical systems which may include but not limited to ELECTRICAL Room Space Planning, electrical load and HVAC heat dissipation details.
  • Capability in extraction of details from the BIM Models if provided by client.
  • Preparation of project scope of works /project brief.
  • Preparation of tender BOQ /estimate, indices etc
  • Preparation of Value Engineering options.
  • Preparation of schematic drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Candidate should be able to coordinate with other disciplines and facilitate seamless input sharing.
  • Candidate with knowledge on estimation of ELECTRICAL system will be an added advantage.
  • Candidate to update the manager /immediate supervisor in all the steps of project mentioned above and appraising him/her on any support required or clarifications required

Responsibilities - For Operating Project.

  • Identifying and aligning himself/herself based on the modality of operation for the design stage.
  • Discussing with manger/immediate supervisor on the key milestones w.r.to design and execution at project site to initiate the procurement BOQs, drawings etc
  • Preparation of the DBR, Drawings, BOQ and other technical documents as per the project requirement and client needs.
  • Obtaining approvals on the design submissions from client /other stake holders.
  • Participate in Coordination meetings and ensuring the relevant data w.r.to ELECTRICAL systems are exchanged with the concerned disciplines.
  • Support procurement team in technical evaluation of the ELECTRICAL Systems vendors/sub-contractors in consultation with immediate supervisor/manager.
  • First Level QA/QC Review of GFC Drawings and Coordination drawings and submitting the same for manager/immediate supervisor review and approval.
  • Review and Approval of Shop Drawings.
  • Supporting Site Execution team in installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
  • Responsible for design, validation and finalisation of Electrical systems
