We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in designing technical solutions for industrial and commercial facilities. You will be responsible for creating power distribution and lighting systems, preparing electrical drawings and schematics, and performing critical calculations for motors, drives, and other components. This role requires hands-on experience in electrical panel design and the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design power distribution and lighting systems for manufacturing, distribution, and other industrial and commercial facilities.
- Prepare single-line diagrams, panel IGA & OGA drawings, and schematics based on customer requirements.
- Perform calculations and select motors, drives, AC, and cable selections based on design standards.
- Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, and systems for commercial and industrial purposes.
- Prepare and study technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Develop electrical drawings using AutoCAD for wiring, conduit, and grounding plans.
- Perform power utility coordination and work with 277/480V building services.
- Conduct power distribution and calculations, including for switchboards, panel boards, transformers, and wire sizing.
- Select and size UPS for SCADA systems and three-phase inverters.
- Design industrial control panels for PLC, RIO, and VFD.
- Write regular progress reports and present them to project managers and clients.
- Help resolve Change Request Notices and Requests for Information.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD software.
- Hands-on experience in preparing single-line diagrams, panel drawings, and schematics.
- Ability to perform calculations for and select Motors, Drives, AC, and Cables.
- Knowledge of UL508A, IEC, NEMA, and other relevant standards.
- Experience in electrical panel design.
- Experience in Food, Beverage, or Pharmaceutical Facilities or Industry Engineering is preferred.
- Ability to produce electrical designs on a multi-discipline project.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good general computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Tool knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, and EPlan P8 is an added advantage.
QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics.
