Role Overview
The Electrical BIM Engineer is responsible for developing and coordinating BIM models for Electrical and ELV systems from design through as-built stages. The role focuses on delivering accurate, clash-free Revit models, layouts, BOQs, and construction-ready documentation in line with the BIM Execution Plan and project standards. You will work closely with design, coordination, and site teams to ensure buildable, high-quality electrical BIM deliverables that support smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Modeling & Coordination
- Develop detailed BIM models for Electrical & ELV systems from design development through construction and as-built stages, ensuring coordination with all
- allied services.
- Ensure strict compliance with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), project-specific BIM standards, and defined workflows.
- Perform interdisciplinary coordination and clash detection, identifying and resolving conflicts proactively to avoid site-level issues.
Electrical Design & Documentation
- Prepare comprehensive lighting, power, cable tray, and conduiting layouts in
- line with design intent and project standards.
- Prepare Fire Alarm and Public Address (PA) system layouts in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Generate electrical layouts, sections, elevations, and detailed drawings
- suitable for construction and coordination.
Quantity Take-offs & BOQs
- Utilize Revit schedules to prepare accurate quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for Electrical and ELV services.
- Ensure quantities are coordinated, validated, and aligned with design revisions and approved drawings.
Revit Family Development
- Create, modify, and manage Revit families for electrical fixtures, equipment, and devices as per project and company standards.
- Maintain consistency, accuracy, and usability of families across models and projects.
Quality Control & Standards Compliance
- Perform thorough quality checks on models and drawings to ensure completeness, accuracy, and adherence to company and project standards.
- Maintain proper version control and documentation discipline to minimize errors and rework.
Project Communication & Documentation
- Track and document major project decisions and Minutes of Meetings (MoMs) throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure clarity, alignment, and timely resolution of design and coordination issues.
What We Expect
- Strong hands-on experience in Electrical & ELV BIM modeling using Revit.
- Good understanding of electrical systems, layouts, SLDs, and coordination requirements.
- Proven ability to work as per BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and project BIM standards.
- Experience in clash detection, multi-discipline coordination, and model-based issue resolution.
- Ability to generate construction-ready drawings, BOQs, schedules, and basic fabrication details.
- Proficiency in creating and managing Revit families for electrical components.
- Strong attention to quality, accuracy, and documentation control.
- Ability to track project decisions, revisions, and MoMs effectively.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative, execution-focused mindset.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced project environments with multiple stakeholders.
