Job Description

Role Purpose

The EHS Bid Manager – Pre‑Contract Risk Control ensures that Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) risks are proactively identified, evaluated, and costed during the bid and tender stage. The role embeds Siemens EHS, statutory, and customer commitments into bids to protect people, ensure compliance, and safeguard profitability before contract award.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify embedded EHS risks during bid evaluation considering scope, execution methodology, geography, and customer requirements.
  • Translate EHS risks into quantifiable cost components to ensure realistic and compliant bids.
  • Develop project‑specific EHS strategies aligned with scope, customer expectations, and legal requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Siemens internal EHS requirements, customer specifications, and statutory obligations.
  • Integrate ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 requirements into bid assumptions, risk registers, and costing.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, SCM, and Legal to validate feasibility of EHS risk controls.
  • Support inclusion and review of EHS contractual clauses and pre‑contract assurance requirements.
  • Maintain EHS cost libraries, templates, and standard risk scenarios to improve bid quality and speed.
  • Ensure effective handover of EHS commitments from bid phase to project execution teams.

Qualification & Experience

Qualification

  • Engineering Degree / Diploma (Any Discipline)
  • Mandatory 1‑year full‑time EHS Diploma

Experience

  • 10–15 years overall experience
  • Minimum 3 years in EHS bid evaluation / pre‑contract risk assessment
  • Exposure to industrial / infrastructure / project environments preferred

Key Competencies

  • Pre‑contract EHS risk assessment & costing
  • Strong knowledge of Indian statutory EHS requirements
  • Working knowledge of ISO 45001 & ISO 14001
  • Commercial acumen and risk‑based decision making
  • Stakeholder influencing and communication skills
