Reports to: Learning Lead / Grade Mentor
At WisdomWood High, the educator will be a subject expert and learning guide in any of the following: English, Mathematics, Social, Science, Languages (Hindi and Kannada), Information Technology and AI and who ensures depth, skill progression, and academic integrity within their discipline.
This role goes beyond content delivery, it is about enabling students to understand concepts deeply, apply knowledge meaningfully, and develop transferable skills that prepare them for academic and life success.
An educator designs high-quality subject instruction aligned with CBSE outcomes, NEP 2020 competencies, and IB-inspired best practices, while contributing actively to a culture of inquiry, reflection, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Subject Mastery and High Quality Instruction
- Plan and deliver subject-specific lessons that emphasize conceptual clarity, skill development, and real-world application.
- Design learning experiences that encourage critical thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving within the subject domain.
- Use inquiry, discussion, demonstrations, and practice-based strategies to deepen understanding.
- Sequence learning effectively to ensure vertical skill progression across grades.
- Differentiate instruction to address diverse learner needs, abilities, and learning speeds.
- Maintain high academic standards while making learning accessible and engaging.
Assessment, Feedback & Academic Rigor
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments aligned with learning objectives and CBSE expectations.
- Ensure assessment quality, fairness, and alignment with competencies and skills.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback that helps students reflect and improve.
- Maintain accurate assessment records, portfolios, and evidence of student progress
- Contribute subject data to the Holistic Progress Card (HPC) and other review frameworks.
- Analyse assessment outcomes to refine teaching strategies and support interventions.
Curriculum Alignment & Academic Discipline
- Implement the prescribed curriculum while enhancing it through application-based tasks, projects, and enrichment activities.
- Collaborate with the Grade Mentor and Learning Lead to ensure pacing, coverage, and consistency across sections.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, review cycles, and subject-level documentation.
- Align teaching practices with internal benchmarks, academic policies, and school-wide instructional standards.
Student Guidance & Classroom Culture
- Create a positive, focused, and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Support students in developing independent learning habits, organisation, and responsibility.
- Identify learners who need additional academic or emotional support and collaborate with mentors and support teams.
- Model professionalism, curiosity, and integrity in all classroom interactions.
Collaboration & Professional Practice
- Work collaboratively with Grade Mentors, Homeroom Teachers, and fellow Subject Specialists to support student success.
- Participate actively in team meetings, academic reviews, and reflection sessions.
- Support school events, competitions, exhibitions, and enrichment programmes related to the subject area.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to strengthen pedagogy, assessment literacy, and subject expertise.
Parent Communication & Academic Transparency
- Communicate clearly with parents regarding subject expectations, progress, and assessment outcomes when required.
- Contribute to PTM's, academic reviews, and progress discussions with professionalism and clarity.
- Maintain transparency and consistency in grading, feedback, and expectations.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in the relevant subject discipline and/or Education.
- 2-5 years of subject teaching experience across Grades 310 (CBSE or equivalent).
Expertise:
- Strong command of subject content, curriculum mapping, and competency-based assessment.
- Ability to translate complex concepts into age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Excellent fluency in English; subject-specific academic language proficiency essential.
Digital Fluency:
- Proficient in Google Workspace for Education, digital assessments, and documentation tools.
- Google Certified Educator Level 1 & 2 mandatory.
