Job Title: Counsellor
Job Summary: The Counsellor provides guidance and support to students aiming to take the exam. This includes advising on test preparation, registration processes, and offering strategies for improving language skills to achieve desired scores.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Student Counseling: - Advise students on test formats, scoring, and preparation strategies. - Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions to understand student needs and goals. - Assist students in identifying their strengths and weaknesses in English language skills.
2. Test Preparation: - Provide information on study materials, courses, and resources for preparation. - Organize and conduct preparation workshops, seminars, and mock tests. - Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored study plans.
3. Administrative Support: - Guide students through the registration process, including selecting test dates and locations. - Maintain accurate records of student interactions, progress, and test results. - Assist with visa application processes and other documentation related to studying abroad, if applicable.
4. Communication and Coordination: - Collaborate with educational institutions, language schools, and other stakeholders to support student success. - Keep up-to-date with changes in test formats, policies, and procedures. - Communicate effectively with students, parents, and educators through various channels (email, phone, in-person).
5. Professional Development: - Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in English language teaching and preparation. - Attend training sessions, workshops, and conferences to enhance counseling skills and knowledge.
Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in academic counseling, teaching English as a second language, or working in educational consulting is advantageous.
Skills: - Strong knowledge of the exam and its components. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to assess student needs and tailor advice accordingly. - Proficiency in using educational technology and online resources. - Organizational skills to manage multiple students and administrative tasks efficiently. Work Environment: - Work may be conducted in educational institutions, language schools, or dedicated counseling centers. - The role may involve evening or weekend work to accommodate students schedules. - Some positions may offer the flexibility to work remotely.
