Education Counselor guides students on academic, career, and personal development by assessing interests, advising on courses/pathways, assisting with applications (college/scholarships), and providing support for challenges like study skills or personal issues, working with students, parents, and educators to create successful educational plans. Key duties involve individual/group sessions, running workshops, monitoring progress, and staying updated on educational trends.
Key Responsibilities:Academic Advising: Help with course selection, academic planning, and setting achievable educational goals.Career Counseling: Assess interests, abilities, and personalities to recommend suitable career paths and opportunities.Application Support: Guide students through college/university applications, financial aid, and scholarship processes.Personal & Social Support: Address academic, social, or emotional concerns, mediate conflicts, and refer to specialists if needed.Workshops & Training: Organize sessions on study skills, time management, career exploration, and other relevant topics.Collaboration: Work with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success.Record Keeping: Maintain accurate student records and track progress.Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with educational programs, industry trends, and labor market needs.
