Job Purpose: Duty Manager - Landside Security is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of landside security operations, managing security personnel, responding to incidents, and ensuring adherence to established protocols. This role provides immediate supervision and support to the security team, coordinating access control, monitoring traffic, and addressing security issues as they arise. Through consistent communication with the Lead, the Duty Manager ensures that security measures are maintained effectively and efficiently, contributing to a safe and secure environment for all individuals in landside areas.

Responsibilities

Security Operations Management:

Oversee day-to-day landside security operations during shifts for landside, city side, airport village site, including patrolling, access control, and surveillance activities, to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.

Act as the primary point of contact for on-site security teams, providing guidance and addressing any issues that arise promptly to maintain secure and seamless operations.

Conduct regular inspections of landside areas to identify potential risks or deviations from established standards.

Ensure operational readiness of all security equipment, including CCTV systems, access control devices, and communication tools. Coordinate with the Integrated Security Operations Center (ISOC) for seamless monitoring and response.

Incident Reporting And Response

Coordinate initial response efforts during security incidents, gathering relevant information and ensuring immediate actions are taken to address the situation effectively.

Prepare detailed incident reports for the Lead - Landside Security, capturing all relevant information and contributing to follow-up investigations and preventive measures.

Supervision Of Access Control And Traffic Management

Oversee access control, Crowd control, Traffic management, loss prevention and asset protections measures for landside areas, including vehicle and personnel access, ensuring compliance with security protocols and addressing any exceptions or irregularities.

Manage traffic flow within landside zones, implementing measures to prevent congestion and maintain a secure environment for all employees, visitors, and vendors.

Ensure round the clock protection to both the tangible and intangible assets.

Risk Assessment And Mitigation

Conduct routine risk assessments of landside operations and recommend mitigation measures.

Monitor local, national, and international developments that may impact landside security operations.

Report potential risks to the Lead - Landside Security and suggest proactive measures to address them.

Team Coordination And Scheduling

Plan and manage shift schedules for landside security staff, coordinating coverage to ensure all critical areas are monitored and secured at all times.

Facilitate communication within the team, holding regular briefings to discuss daily objectives, key concerns, and any updates to security protocols that need to be followed.

Provide on-the-job training and guidance to security staff to improve performance and compliance.

Monitor the performance of outsourced security staff and escalate issues to the vendor management team if needed.

Compliance And Audit Support

Conduct routine audits of landside security operations to identify areas for improvement and ensure full compliance with established standards.

Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and ensuring compliance with findings.

Update staff on new regulations, SOP changes, and directives issued by regulatory agencies.

Stakeholder Liaison

Act as the primary point of contact for landside security issues during the shift.

Collaborate with airport operations, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders to resolve operational challenges.

Address complaints or concerns from passengers, visitors, and employees regarding security matters.

Reporting And Documentation

Review and submit shift reports detailing incidents, operational highlights, and staff performance.

Maintain accurate records of access control activities, visitor management, and incident investigations.

Ensure all documentation is updated and stored securely for audit and compliance purposes.

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Public Safety, or a related discipline.

AVSEC certification or equivalent airport security certification.

Training in Crisis Management or Incident Response is preferred.

Work Experience

5-10 (Depending on the site complexity/ requirement) years of experience in a security operations role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.

Experience in managing daily security operations, handling incidents, and ensuring compliance with security policies and protocols.
