Department: Academics – IB Diploma Programme

Reports to: Head of School (HOS) / Principal

Position Summary:

The DP Coordinator is responsible for the effective leadership, implementation, and continuous development of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). This role ensures that the programme is delivered in alignment with IB standards and practices while fostering a culture of academic excellence, integrity, and holistic student development. The DP Coordinator works closely with faculty, students, and parents to support successful programme delivery and student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:Programme Leadership & Management:
  • Lead and manage the IB Diploma Programme in accordance with IB guidelines and standards.
  • Ensure successful authorization, evaluation, and compliance with IB requirements.
  • Develop and implement programme policies (assessment, academic integrity, language, inclusion, etc.).
  • Oversee subject selection processes and programme structure.
Academic Oversight:
  • Monitor teaching and learning practices to ensure alignment with IB pedagogy.
  • Support teachers in curriculum planning, unit design, and assessment strategies.
  • Ensure effective implementation of internal and external assessments.
  • Track student progress and intervene where necessary to support achievement.
Student Support & Guidance:
  • Guide students in subject selection, university pathways, and IB requirements.
  • Monitor student workload, well-being, and academic progress.
  • Oversee core components: Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service).
  • Address student concerns related to academics and programme expectations.
Faculty Support & Development:
  • Mentor and support DP teachers in implementing IB curriculum.
  • Coordinate professional development and IB training workshops.
  • Conduct regular meetings to review curriculum delivery and assessment practices.
  • Facilitate collaboration among subject teachers and core coordinators.
Assessment & Compliance:
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of IB documentation, registrations, and assessments.
  • Maintain compliance with IB policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the IB organization for examinations and moderation processes.
  • Analyze results and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Parent & Community Engagement:
  • Conduct parent orientations and information sessions about the DP programme.
  • Communicate student progress and programme updates to parents.
  • Act as a liaison between the school, parents, and the IB organization.
Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records of student data, results, and programme documentation.
  • Prepare reports on programme performance and outcomes.
  • Manage DP timelines, calendars, and scheduling.
