Position Summary
We are seeking a committed and seasoned Domestic Operations Manager to lead the organization&aposs domestic educational travel operations. The successful candidate will be tasked with ensuring seamless execution, managing costs effectively, and delivering outstanding customer experiences, all while upholding stringent safety protocols.
Key Duties
- Planning and Implementation of Journeys:
- Supervise comprehensive operational planning and implementation of domestic educational tours.
- Work closely with Product Development and Sales teams to ensure alignment of journey plans with educational aims.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Financial Oversight and Budget Control:
- Manage costs associated with transportation, lodging, meals, and other logistics.
- Enhance vendor negotiations to ensure financial effectiveness.
- Track expenditures and ensure profitability for each tour.
- Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Lead and mentor the domestic operations team, including Tour Coordinators and Support Staff.
- Organize training and development initiatives to uplift team capabilities.
- Vendor Relations and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with vendors, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication to tackle operational issues promptly.
- Customer Service and Safety Adherence:
- Foster exceptional customer service by promptly addressing the needs of students and schools.
- Execute safety measures and effectively manage emergency situations.
- Process Optimization and Reporting:
- Strive to enhance operational processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on operational performance, budgets, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor&aposs degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Travel & Tourism Management, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years in operations management, ideally within the travel or education industry.
- Proven leadership and team management expertise.
- Excellent organizational skills and adept problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong background in budget control and cost management.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation prowess.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced atmosphere and managing multiple priorities.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in educational travel or student-oriented tours is highly advantageous.
- Acquainted with safety standards and risk management protocols.
- Understanding of travel logistics, vendor relations, and customer service practices.
