Inviting applications for the role of Domain Trainee/ Management Trainee- Reinsurance Operations (Assumed & Ceded)

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Accounting & Processing - Handle end-to-end processing of technical statements of account (SoA) for premiums, claims, and risk transactions across all reinsurance businesses

  • Contract Setup & Interpretation - Review and interpret reinsurance contracts, wordings, and slips to accurately set up treaty and facultative agreements in operational systems

  • Financial Booking & Reconciliation - Record and reconcile financial transactions related to premiums, claims, recoveries, and brokerage in accordance with contract terms and accounting policies

  • Reinsurance Calculations - Perform complex calculations including reinstatement premiums, profit commissions, sliding scale adjustments, and no-claims bonuses

  • Cash & Receivables Management - Manage unallocated cash and aged receivable clearance, ensuring timely identification, matching, and resolution of outstanding items

  • Stakeholder & Broker Engagement - Liaise with brokers, reinsurers, and internal finance/underwriting teams to resolve data discrepancies and maintain accurate records

  • Reporting & Controls - Support management and regulatory reporting needs, maintain audit trails, and ensure compliance with internal controls and reinsurance governance standards

  • Continuous Improvement & Controls - Strengthen process controls, identify automation opportunities, and drive consistency and efficiency across Reinsurance operations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in any stream

  • Relevant years of experience in managing Reinsurance Operations processes

  • Proven experience within Re-Insurance domain preferably Assumed business

  • Experience in working with SICS system would be added advantage

Preferred Skill Set:

  • Thorough knowledge of Insurance / Reinsurance business

  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

  • Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate issues to senior management

  • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail

  • Self-starter, with ability to work under own initiative

  • Strong time management skills

  • Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information
