Global Public Domain Portfolio Manager

Work Locations - Noida, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune.

The Global Public Domain Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing the strategy, governance, lifecycle management, and compliance of the organization's global domain name portfolio. This role ensures that all public‑facing digital identities (domains, subdomains, DNS configurations, and related assets) are secure, policy‑compliant, cost‑optimized, and aligned with the company's brand and digital strategy. The manager acts as the central point of coordination between business divisions, IT, security, brand management, and external domain service providers.

Responsibilities

Domain Portfolio Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and maintain a global strategy for acquisition, renewal, and retirement of domain names across all business units.
  • Establish governance standards and enforce domain naming conventions, lifecycle policies, and security requirements.
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews to ensure all domains remain relevant, compliant, and cost‑efficient.
  • Maintain a forward‑looking strategy for protecting the company's digital presence, including monitoring trends in TLDs and domain regulations.

Domain Registration & Administration

  • Manage new domain and subdomain requests, coordinating with internal stakeholders to validate business justification.
  • Oversee domain registrations, DNS configurations, redirects, SSL certifications, and WHOIS accuracy.
  • Ensure consistent and accurate configuration of public DNS settings across global environments.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on domain lifecycle processes.

Vendor & External Partner Management

  • Manage relationships with external registrars, DNS providers, and domain management partners.
  • Negotiate contract terms related to domain renewals, hosting services, and global DNS infrastructure.
  • Validate invoices, analyze ongoing costs, and recommend cost‑optimization measures.

Brand Protection & Compliance

  • Protect the company's online identity through proactive monitoring for misuse, cybersquatting, or infringement.
  • Partner with Legal, Brand, and Security teams to evaluate and act on enforcement needs.
  • Ensure all domains comply with internal security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Cross‑Functional Coordination

  • Act as liaison between Global Information Services, Brand Management, InfoSec, and business stakeholders.
  • Support marketing and digital teams with domain strategy for campaigns, product launches, and rebranding.
  • Communicate domain lifecycle events (expirations, transfers, DNS changes) to relevant teams proactively.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain an accurate, centralized domain inventory including ownership, configuration, expiration, and usage details.
  • Implement automation and process improvements to streamline domain management workflows.
  • Provide training, guidance, and best‑practice documentation to internal teams involved in domain usage.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in domain management, DNS administration, digital brand protection, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of DNS, public‑facing infrastructure, SSL/TLS, and domain lifecycle mechanics.
  • Experience managing global portfolios across multiple TLDs, regions, and registrars.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Ability to interpret legal and policy frameworks related to domains and intellectual property.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and vendor‑management capabilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with enterprise registrars or domain management platforms (e.g., CSC, MarkMonitor, GoDaddy Corporate).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices related to domain use (DMARC, DNSSEC, certificate management).
  • Background in IT governance, branding, or digital transformation in a multinational organization.
