Overview
We are seeking a qualified individual or translation company to provide professional translation services for a global research initiative. This is a short-term contract focused on the accurate and culturally appropriate translation of six (6) data collection tools into Kannada for the India portion of our project.
Scope of Work
The selected translator/firm will:
- Translate six (6) research data collection tools ( Microsoft Word format ) from English into Kannada.
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and cultural appropriateness of all translations.
- Maintain consistency in terminology across all tools.
- Deliver translations in an editable format (e.g., Microsoft Word).
- Participate in one review cycle for revisions/feedback from the project team.
Deliverables
- Six (6) translated data collection tools delivered in Kannada.
- Final approved versions reflecting project team feedback.
The word counts are as follows :
- Document #1: 4562 words (24,851 characters excluding spaces)
- Document #2: 3000 words (15,159 characters excluding spaces)
- Document #3 : 4319 words (26722 characters excluding spaces)
- Document #4 : 888 words (5420 characters excluding spaces)
- Document #8: 1372 words (9,622 characters excluding spaces)
- Document #9: 2518 (15,580 characters excluding spaces)
Timeline
- Final translations due: Within 7 days of contract signing.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in professional translation (experience in health, social science, or research projects preferred).
- Ability to provide culturally appropriate and accurate translations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
