Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Channel Manager to drive distributor network expansion and management across the assigned state for Sheenlac Paints. The role focuses on appointing and onboarding new distributors, ensuring smooth channel operations, maintaining high standards of business hygiene, and achieving secondary sales growth. The successful candidate will work closely with the company's sales team to secure orders and ensure timely servicing while enforcing compliance with company processes, including the exclusive use of our designated billing software.
Key Responsibilities
- Distributor Appointment & Network Expansion: Identify, evaluate, and appoint new distributors in the assigned state to strengthen market coverage and achieve distribution targets.
- Channel Operations Management:
- Ensure distributors purchase materials from Sheenlac Paints through advance payment or approved channel funding methods.
- Guide distributors to supply products to sub-dealers on credit terms, enabling them to earn commissions on sales.
- Clarify and monitor that primary collection from sub-dealers remains the sole responsibility of the distributors.
- Secondary Sales Support:
- Collaborate with the company's sales team to generate secondary sales orders from sub-dealers.
- Ensure all secondary orders are serviced and delivered to sub-dealers within 2448 hours.
- Compliance & Process Adherence:
- Enforce the exclusive use of Sheenlac Paints designated software for all billing and transaction processes.
- Maintain high standards of business hygiene across the channel (including accurate reporting, timely payments, stock management, and ethical practices).
- Service Level Agreement (SLA) Management:
- Monitor and ensure strict adherence to delivery SLAs for sub-dealers.
- Address any deviations promptly to maintain service quality and partner satisfaction.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track distributor performance, sales volumes, market coverage, and collection efficiency.
- Conduct regular reviews with distributors to drive growth and resolve operational issues.
- Provide timely reports to senior management on channel health, achievements, and challenges.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 510 years of experience in channel sales/distribution management, preferably in paints, building materials, FMCG, or similar industries.
- Proven track record of appointing and managing distributors/partners in a state or regional territory.
- Strong understanding of channel financing, credit systems, and secondary sales dynamics.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to monitor performance metrics and ensure compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP/billing software is a plus.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned state.
- High ethical standards and commitment to business hygiene.
