About the Role:
As we expand our distributed database practice around, we are seeking experiencedCLOUD Database Administrators (DBAs)who not only bring deep technical expertise inMySQL, Aurora, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, HBase, Elastic Search andcloud-native DB solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP), but also could support thetechnical sales process. This role blends high-impact hands-on implementation with customer-facing collaboration, enabling you to shape scalable, modern data architectures and help customers understand how distributed SQL databases meet their business needs.
You will work closely withsalesto ensure successful proof-of-concepts, architecture design sessions, and smooth onboarding for strategic customers evaluating or adopting Distributed SQL Database solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manageDistributed SQL Database cluster solutionsin cloud and hybrid environments, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and performance.
- Migrate complex workloads fromMySQL, Aurora, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, HBase, Elastic Search, or other RDBMS platforms toDistributed SQL Database solutions.
- Analyze and optimize Distributed SQL Database solutions for performance, scalability, and system reliability.
- Supportsalesin pre-sales activities, including customer discovery, technical demos, architecture reviews, and PoCs.
- Articulate Distributed SQL Database solutions technical advantages and trade-offs in the context of a customer's business needs and technical stack.
- Deliver feedback from the field to influence overall strategy and roadmap.
- Assist customers in designing Distributed SQL Database -based solutions that align with cloud architecture best practices (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Create technical documentation, whitepapers, and architecture diagrams for internal and customer use.
- Stay current with the latest trends indistributed systems, Distributed SQL Database solutions
- Help define and improve our internal tools, processes, and operational runbooks.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of hands-on DBA experience in 4 or more listed databases;MySQL, Aurora, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, HBase, Elastic Search and other relational databases.
- 7+ years of experience incloud database deployment and operationsacross AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
- 5+ years of experience withdistributed SQL databases (e.g., CockroachDB, YugabyteDB, SingleStore).
- Experience with customer-facing technical roles or supporting sales cycles (e.g., solutions engineer, customer success engineer).
- Strong understanding ofdistributed systems,replication protocols,query optimization, andsharding.
- Ability to confidently engage with enterprise customersunderstanding their pain points and translating them into scalable data solutions.
- Solid background ininfrastructure-as-code,monitoring, andautomation tooling(Terraform, Ansible, Prometheus, etc.).
- Excellent communication skillswritten, verbal, and visual (e.g., diagrams, documentation).
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Database Specialty, Azure Database Administrator, etc.).
- Experience intechnical pre-sales,proof-of-concept delivery, orsolution architecture.
- Contributions to open source distributed SQL databases or related database technologies.
