Description

GSPANN is hiring a Disaster Recovery Lead to lead and govern enterprise Disaster Recovery programs. The role focuses on DR planning, cross-team coordination, readiness assessments, and execution of large-scale DR drills to ensure business continuity.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and governance of the organization's Disaster Recovery (DR) program.
  • Coordinate closely with Infrastructure, Application, Database, Cloud, and Network teams during DR activities and failover events.
  • Own, maintain, and regularly update Technical Recovery Guides (TRGs) to reflect environment and system changes.
  • Conduct DR readiness assessments and maintain dashboards to track recovery preparedness and compliance.
  • Identify DR risks, gaps, and improvement areas, and drive remediation plans to closure.
  • Ensure teams follow defined recovery procedures, recovery time objectives, and compliance standards.
  • Plan and facilitate bi-annual DR drills, oversee end-to-end testing, and document outcomes and observations.
  • Prepare detailed DR drill reports and present findings to internal teams and client stakeholders.
  • Support audits by coordinating evidence collection, compliance checks, and DR-related submissions.

Skills And Experience

  • 6-8 years of experience in Disaster Recovery planning, coordination, or IT service continuity roles.
  • Demonstrate hands-on ownership of end-to-end DR activities, including planning, documentation, testing, and governance.
  • Maintain and continuously improve Technical Recovery Guides (TRGs) across all systems and platforms.
  • Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams during DR drills, failover exercises, and real incidents.
  • Assess DR readiness, analyze risks and dependencies, and drive remediation of gaps and vulnerabilities.
  • Perform post-DR analysis, identify improvement opportunities, and update runbooks and procedures accordingly.
  • Apply a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, storage, databases, and cloud environments.
  • Use analytical skills to interpret recovery requirements, system dependencies, and impact analysis.
  • Work hands-on with recovery workflows, runbooks, and DR tools and technologies.
  • Create and maintain audit-ready documentation, evidence, dashboards, and compliance reports.
  • Utilize tools such as Excel, Visio, and documentation platforms to support DR planning and reporting.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of backup solutions, replication technologies, and monitoring tools.
  • Apply a strong understanding of DR frameworks, Recovery Time Objective (RTO), Recovery Point Objective (RPO) planning, and business continuity processes.
  • Exhibit excellent stakeholder management, communication, and cross-team coordination skills.
  • Lead large-scale DR drills confidently, including under high-pressure scenarios.
  • Apply working knowledge of change management, incident management, and ITIL processes.
