About the Role

The Director – US Tax role is a senior leadership position within Pierag's US Tax practice. This role is responsible for overseeing complex US tax compliance, provision reviews, deferred tax calculations, and tax reporting for corporate, partnership, individual, and trust entities. The Director will lead a team of tax professionals, manage key client relationships, ensure high-quality deliverables, and support the practice in driving growth, operational excellence, and technical leadership. This role requires deep tax technical expertise, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities-

Tax Compliance & Technical Leadership

• Oversee preparation and review of US federal and state income tax returns for Corporations, Partnerships, Individuals, and Trusts.

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex returns and ensure compliance with IRS and state regulations.

• Review and guide preparation of ASC 740 tax provisions, including current and deferred tax calculations. • Manage deferred tax asset/liability computations and ensure accurate reporting in accordance with US GAAP.

• Oversee quarterly and annual tax reporting for US entities, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with deadlines.

• Provide technical tax guidance and updates regarding new IRS regulations, state laws, and relevant tax developments. Client Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for key US clients, ensuring exceptional service quality.

• Build strong, trusted relationships with client tax teams, controllers, CFOs, and other senior stakeholders. • Manage escalations, resolve tax issues proactively, and ensure timely delivery of commitments.

• Identify opportunities for value enhancement, process improvements, and advisory support. Team Leadership & People Development

• Lead, mentor, and coach a team of tax managers, seniors, and associates.

• Oversee resource allocation, workflow management, and quality control of deliverables.

• Conduct training programs to enhance team capability on US tax technical areas, tools, and processes.

• Build a high-performance culture with focus on accuracy, timelines, accountability, and collaboration. Operational Excellence

• Establish governance, review cadences, and quality benchmarks across the tax engagements.

• Drive process improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices.

• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies, controls, and audit requirements.

• Support business development, proposal writing, and onboarding of new client engagements. Preferred Qualifications • CPA and/or EA certification highly preferred.

• 10–15 years of relevant US Tax experience, with strong expertise across corporate, partnership, individual, and trust returns.

• Proven experience in tax provision (ASC 740), deferred tax, and US tax reporting.

• Strong background in managing teams and large-scale tax operations.

• Experience working with US-based clients or global tax teams.

Skills & Competencies

• Deep technical knowledge of US federal and state tax laws.

• Strong proficiency in US tax software (e.g., GoSystem, CCH Axcess, Ultratax) — preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution abilities.

• Ability to drive work forward independently with strong problem-solving skills.
