Job Description

Position Summary

Trusted senior thought-partner for BIA's US Commercial Analytics function, who directly supports the BIA Hyderabad lead and manages multiple Hyderabad based teams. The pod lead will play an instrumental role in developing the new Hyderabad site, from hiring and cultivating top talent to pioneering new ways of working that can supercharge innovation and accelerate delivery to build and scale BIA capabilities. The pod lead should be an entrepreneurial talent who thrives under pressure, tight timelines & ambiguity though able to provide focus and clear priorities to their team. In addition, the pod lead will engage with senior stakeholders across BIA globally to help steer the new site to success.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of 50 to 100 people across multiple teams that provide analytical support to US BIA Commercial Analytics, focus mainly on supporting the BMS Therapeutic Areas and the VAP (Value, Access and Pricing) teams
  • Core areas of analytic support would include leveraging secondary data sources (Rx, claims) and internally generated data for analytics such as: performance tracking deep dives (nation/subnational), understanding of performance drivers, growth opportunity assessment, HCP/account segmentation, promotional planning / measurement, KPI/metric design, launch planning analytics, etc
  • Leading hiring for the Commercial Analytics pod and play a key role in designing career development opportunities over time
  • In coordination with US based leaders, establish operating principles to guide working model between US / Hyderabad teams, creating a culture of connectivity and meaningful work within Hyderabad teams
  • Developing a training curriculum and establishing training process for both new team members and continued learning for established team members
  • Maintain close alignment of Hyderabad and global BIA priorities and standards by ensuring the delivery of high-quality outputs and implementing ways of working that drive efficiencies within a global operating model
  • Engage in thought partnership with senior leadership across BIA to establish and develop the Hyderabad site

  • Strong verbal/written skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with and strategically impact senior leadership
  • Strong project management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams, influence cross functionally and manage a heavy workload
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills and business acumen, with the ability to identify key findings from disparate data sources to provide recommendations
  • Strong analytical skills with knowledge of qualitative design, data analysis and applied statistics

Experience

  • BA/BS required (quantitative area of study preferred)
  • MBA/other graduate degree preferred
  • 7+ years pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Experience managing/leading team(s) supporting global enterprise
  • Experience building and developing teams from scratch
  • Experience operating successfully in a complex organizational environment
  • Experience interacting with senior management, understanding, anticipating, and fulfilling their insight/ analytical information requirements
  • Experience with forecasting/analytics, modeling platforms, data manipulation software and visualization tools (e.g. SAS, Tableau, Microsoft Suite, MicroStrategy, Python, SQL, SAS, etc.)
