About Our Client

Our client is a leading global bank with a well-established commercial banking franchise across Singapore and the region. As part of its continued growth, the bank is looking to appoint a Director, Senior Credit Approver to support its expanding Commercial Banking business.

This is a senior credit leadership role responsible for providing independent credit approval and risk oversight across the SME and Mid-Market Commercial Banking portfolio. The successful candidate will partner closely with senior business stakeholders to support prudent business growth while maintaining a strong credit risk framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide independent credit approval for new and existing commercial banking exposures across the SME and Mid-Market portfolio

• Assess complex credit proposals, including new lending, renewals, restructuring and credit exceptions

• Partner closely with Relationship Managers and business leaders to provide balanced, commercial and risk-based credit decisions

• Ensure credit decisions are aligned with the bank's risk appetite, policies and regulatory expectations

• Review portfolio trends, emerging risks and sector developments, providing recommendations where appropriate

• Support ongoing enhancement of credit policies, underwriting standards and approval processes

• Work collaboratively with Risk, Business, Legal and other internal stakeholders to ensure sound risk governance

• Contribute to regional credit initiatives and projects where applicable

Requirements

• At least 12 - 15 years of credit risk or credit approval experience within commercial banking or corporate banking

• Strong experience approving credit facilities for SME and Mid-Market Commercial Banking clients within Singapore

• Sound understanding of commercial lending, financial analysis, credit structuring and risk assessment

• Proven ability to exercise independent judgement while balancing business growth with prudent risk management

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior business partners

• Regional credit approval or portfolio management experience across Singapore or Asia would be advantageous
