The Team:

We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Director of Salesforce Platform, Innovation & Commercial Delivery to lead the strategic roadmap and operational execution of our Salesforce ecosystem. This role manages multi-geography teams, oversees complex delivery models, and serves as a primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical pods to ensure the platform delivers measurable commercial value while adhering to enterprise governance, security, and compliance standards.

A core mandate is to transform Salesforce from a system of record into a proactive, AI-driven system of engagement-integrating AI agents, automation, and third-party tools so Salesforce remains the indispensable core of our global commercial organization.

Responsibilities and Impact:

The Next-Gen Platform Vision (AI-Driven System of Engagement)

  • AI transformation: Lead the strategy and deployment of Agentforce and autonomous AI agents to automate routine commercial workflows, enhance lead scoring, and provide real-time coaching to sales teams.

  • Platform evolution: Drive the transition from traditional CRM usage to a modern, data-driven environment leveraging predictive analytics and Generative AI.

  • Commercial core strategy: Position Salesforce as the primary tool for the commercial organization by delivering insights that directly impact revenue growth, productivity, and customer outcomes.

Platform Strategy & Roadmap Ownership

  • Roadmap ownership: Collaborate with Head of Commercial Platforms to define and lead a 12-24 month CRM roadmap aligned to commercial strategy, prioritizing multi-market value delivery and platform standardization.

  • Strategic advisory: Act as a primary expert providing strategic oversight to ensure program delivery aligns with core business objectives and investment priorities.

  • Continuous improvement: Drive ongoing platform enhancements through automation and evaluation of new Salesforce clouds, features, and AppExchange solutions.

Strategic Integration & Ecosystem Innovation

  • Tool orchestration: Oversee seamless integration with the broader commercial tech stack (e.g., marketing automation, data warehousing etc) to create a unified user experience. Collaborate with Commercial Platform Core Infrastructure and Data team to ensure smooth renewal integration process.

  • Innovation scouting: Continuously evaluate emerging AppExchange solutions and third-party tools to keep the platform current and differentiated.

  • Data synthesis: Partner with IT and Commercial Platform Core Infrastructure and Data team to create a Data Cloud enabling a 360 customer view that empowers commercial decision-making.

Program Delivery, Governance & Accountability

  • Program governance: Own program governance execution to deliver strategic value, including recovery plans for key accounts/programs when needed.

  • Risk & scope management: Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks, dependencies, and scope translate technical issues into clear business impacts and tradeoffs.

  • Executive stakeholder management: Build trust with senior leaders define success metrics and demonstrate platform ROI through Steering Committees and executive forums.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Leadership & mentoring: Lead and mentor a diverse team of Salesforce professionals, including Developers, DevOps, QAs, and Architects.

  • Team building: Attract, retain, and develop top talent delegate effectively and create an inclusive, high-performance culture across geographies.

  • Coaching: Provide ongoing feedback and growth opportunities that improve delivery quality, team engagement, and career progression. Foster a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and accountability.

  • Resource Allocation: Manage resource allocation and capacity planning to ensure project timelines are met.

Quality, Governance & Compliance

  • Global Standards Alignment: Act as the primary liaison to the Governance Center of Excellence (CoE) for Commercial Platforms, ensuring all Salesforce initiatives adhere to enterprise-wide architectural and data standards.

  • SOX Compliance: Maintain rigorous internal controls for financial reporting. Ensure that the SDLC, change management processes, and user access reviews are fully SOX compliant and audit-ready.

  • Release Governance: Collaborate with Scrum teams, QA & DevOps to establish rigorous testing protocols (UAT, Regression, Integration) and maintain a clean production environment through strict release gates.

  • Security & Privacy: Ensure all configuration and development follow the principle of least privilege and comply with global data privacy regulations (GDPR/CCPA).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Technical & Professional Expertise

  • Salesforce portfolio: Deep knowledge of Salesforce capabilities across Sales, Service, Marketing, Data Cloud, Industries, and Agentforce (as applicable).

  • AI & automation: Strong understanding of Salesforce AI (Agentforce/Einstein) and how to design, deploy, and govern autonomous agents and automations.

  • Enterprise systems: Strong grounding in enterprise administration, role/security models, and integration best practices.

  • Integration patterns: Strong grasp of API-led connectivity and middleware for deep integrations with third-party tools.

  • Methodology: Demonstrated mastery of program delivery methodologies (Agile, Hybrid), including governance, planning, and predictable execution.

What We are looking For:

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience:8-10 years of professional experience, with significant leadership exposure in the Salesforce ecosystem

  • Proven Leadership: 5+ years of experience managing technical teams in an agile environment.

  • Delivery leadership: Proven track record managing multi-geography teams and complex delivery models.

  • Platform Expertise: Deep understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem (SFDC certifications are a strong plus)

  • Innovation track record: Demonstrated success leading a major platform transformation and/or large-scale AI implementation.

  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication ability to simplify complex technical concepts into compelling business narratives for diverse audiences.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Business, or related field (required).

  • Certifications: Project Management certification (PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, Prince2, or equivalent) is preferred.

  • Analytics: Experience with Data Cloud and TCRM (or comparable BI/analytics) to drive advanced commercial insights.

  • Agile Mastery: Expert knowledge of Scrum/Kanban methodologies and Jira/Confluence.

Technical & Architectural Acumen

  • Governance Knowledge: Strong experience working within a formal CoE structure and maintaining compliance in a regulated (SOX) environment.

  • Ability to hold high-level technical discussions with Architects regarding integration patterns (APIs, ETL) and data modeling.

  • Understanding of modern Salesforce development workflows (SFDX, Git-based version control).

  • Experience managing the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from discovery to post-deployment support.
