Job Description

Job Requirements:
Revenue Accounting & Technical Expertise

Deep, hands-on expertise in ASC 606, including complex, multi-element arrangements, performance obligation identification, transaction price allocation, and revenue recognition timing

Strong command of US GAAP, with the ability to apply guidance to evolving and non-standard revenue models

Proven experience leading revenue accounting for organizations with $100M+ in annual revenue, 250+ concurrent customers, and hundreds of active contracts

Demonstrated success managing revenue in high-volume environments with thousands of individual deliverables recognized across multiple periods

End-to-End Revenue Operations Ownership:
Executive ownership of revenue accounting across the full revenue lifecycle, from contract review through billing, revenue recognition, and cash collection

Close cooperation with the Director of Contract Management on:

Contract intake standards and required data elements

Revenue review of new contracts, amendments, change orders, renewals, and terminations

Contract classification and interpretation for revenue recognition, billing, WIP, and PoC purposes

End-to-end ownership of Work in Progress (WIP) and Percentage of Completion (PoC) accounting, including cost-to-cost, milestone-based, and output methodologies

Expert management and reconciliation of:

Deferred Revenue

Unbilled Revenue /Contract Assets

Accrued Revenue

Billing, Accounts Receivable & Collections Leadership:
Direct oversight of the Billing function, ensuring accurate, timely, and contract-compliant invoicing

Full ownership of Accounts Receivable operations, including:

AR aging and exposure analysis

Credit risk assessment

Cash application and reconciliation

Leadership of collections and dunning strategy, including:

Design and execution of dunning workflows

Escalation management for past-due and disputed balances

Collaboration with Sales, Customer Success, and Legal on customer payment issues

Ownership of customer payment processes, balancing cash discipline with long-term customer relationships

Systems Architecture, Automation & Integrations:
Advanced NetSuite expertise, including:

Advanced Revenue Management (ARM)

Billing and revenue schedule configuration

Saved searches, reports, and revenue analytics

Ownership of revenue systems architecture, serving as the Finance authority for:

Quote-to-cash and project-to-revenue workflows

Revenue, billing, and AR data governance

Proven experience driving process automation within NetSuite, improving scalability, accuracy, and control

Hands-on experience integrating NetSuite with external CRM and project delivery systems, including:

Salesforce

Kantata or similar PSA/project delivery platforms

Other CRM, billing, or delivery systems

Ability to translate contract terms and delivery data into automated billing, WIP, and revenue recognition logic

Controls, Audit & PE Readiness:
Ownership of SOX-ready revenue, billing, and AR processes and internal controls

Strong leadership in audit support, including:

Revenue and AR walkthroughs

Technical accounting memo preparation

Management of PBC requests

Ability to document and maintain formal revenue accounting and AR policies, aligned with PE governance standards

Experience supporting PE initiatives such as:

Accelerated close timelines

KPI standardization

Board, lender, and investor reporting

People Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence
Direct supervision and development of:

Revenue Accounting team

Billing team

Accounts Receivable / Collections team

Strong cross-functional partnership with:

Director of Contract Management

Sales Operations

Legal

FP&A

Customer Success

Ability to influence outcomes across teams without direct reporting authority

Strong executive communication skills and comfort operating in high-visibility, PE-backed environments

Preferred Qualifications
CPA or equivalent accounting certification strongly preferred

Prior experience in PE-backed, pre-IPO, or acquisitive environments

Background in SaaS, Professional Services, or complex project-based revenue models

Experience leading NetSuite-centric revenue transformations across billing and AR functions
