Role/position: Director of People & Culture
SiMa.ai is seeking an experienced
Director of People & Culture to lead our People function across India. As the India people leader, you will actively partner with local leadership team, employees, and the global functional leaders. You will own our People & Culture strategy and operating plans, oversee end-to-end people operations, and build programs and people experiences that foster a high-performance, collaborative, inclusive, and engaged culture.
Location: Bengaluru, India (this position requires a full-time, on-site presence)
Key Responsibilities
People & Culture Strategy and Operating plans
- Develop and lead the People & Culture strategy for India aligned with global priorities.
- Act as the trusted advisor and go-to person to local leadership and employees on people policies, programs, and practices.
- Build and operationalize People programs befitting a fast-paced technology company.
Total Rewards
- Design, benchmark, and implement competitive and financially prudent total rewards programs for India (comp structure, job leveling and salary ranges, base pay, benefits, private company stock, recognition programs). Formalize the Aon Radford comp framework and practices.
- Partner with leaders to ensure pay practices are market-competitive and focus on retaining and attracting top talent.
- Lead annual compensation cycles, semi-annual bonus and equity programs.
People Operations & Processes
- Oversee all people operations including on-boarding, off-boarding, employment law compliance, HRIS, employee relations and policy implementation and governance.
- Streamline and enhance people processes to scale with growth and improve employee experience.
Employee Engagement & Culture Building
- Build a strong, inclusive, and high-performance culture rooted in the company's core values.
- Drive employee experience/satisfaction, engagement, and action planning.
- Foster strong employee relations through proactive engagement, communication, and relationship-building.
Talent Management
- Lead the talent management lifecycle: goal/objective setting, semi-annual calibration, top performers growth plan and people development/learning initiatives.
- Coach people managers and leads to build high-performing teams and strengthen culture of accountability and effectiveness.
- Develop programs (and career paths) to retain and grow critical engineering talent.
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Leadership
- Lead recruiting strategy and initiatives while partnering with local managers.
- Implement robust recruiting processes for recruiting in niche domains/functions.
- Cultivate and deploy employer branding initiatives to attract and influence top talent.
Qualifications & Experience
- 15+ years of progressive People & Culture/HR experience, including 5+ years in a senior HR leadership role.
- Demonstrated successes in high-technology/engineering-focused organizations, building hardware and software products.
- People leader with demonstrated expertise as seasoned HR Business partner with additional experiences in managing core People & Culture/HR functional area (e.g. people operations, total rewards, talent management, employment law compliance, recruiting)
- Adept with people tech stack (e.g. Jobvite, Lattice)
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling core people practices in a fast-paced startup or high-growth company with a genuine passion for people.
- Exceptional communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-aware, has maturity to operate autonomously and with purpose and accountability while partnering with all.
