The Role
Healthify is seeking an experienced and inspiring player-coach Design Director to drive our design direction and lead our talented team of product designers. This role will be pivotal in shaping the user experience and visual direction of our product portfolio, ensuring we deliver intuitive, beautiful, and impactful solutions that help our users live healthier lives. You will balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, fostering a culture of design excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities -
Team Leadership and Management
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of product designers, fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and collaborative environment.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning for team members.
- Manage project allocation, ensuring the right resources are applied to the most impactful initiatives.
Design Strategy and Execution
- Define and drive the holistic design vision and strategy for key product areas, aligning with company objectives and user needs.
- Oversee the entire design process from concept to launch, ensuring high-quality, user-centered design solutions are delivered on time.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to translate business goals and technical constraints into exceptional user experiences.
User Research and Insights
- Lead User Research to identify key user needs, pain points, and opportunities.
- Advocate for the user throughout the product development lifecycle, basing design decisions on data and user insights.
Design System and Quality
- Champion the maintenance and evolution of Healthify's design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and efficiency across all platforms.
- Ensure the final product experience meets the highest standards of visual and interaction design quality.
Requirements-
Experience
- 8+ years of experience in Product Design (UX/UI), with a strong portfolio showcasing successful product launches and design leadership. Minimum 3 years in consumer mobile design.
- 2+ years of experience managing, coaching, and growing a team of designers.
- Proven ability to define design strategy and drive execution in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Skills and Attributes
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Deep expertise in user-centered design principles, visual design, interaction design, and usability best practices.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Experience designing for multiple platforms (iOS, Android, Web).
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the health, wellness, or fitness technology sector.
- Familiarity with data analysis and A/B testing methodologies to inform design decisions.
