Director of DevOps and Security

About The Role

As we enter our next phase of growth, we are focused on building a next-generation, resilient architecture that can scale rapidly and stand the test of time. To support this journey, we are looking for a Director of DevOps & Security with strong technical depth, hands-on experience, and leadership maturity.

In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping our cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and security posture, while enabling engineering teams to move fast with confidence. You will be building a leading fintech platform worldwide, working with an international, diverse team in a high-growth environment.

What will you be doing

Technical Leadership & Execution

• Drive technical delivery and operational excellence across DevOps, Cloud, and Security functions
• Define and own the DevOps & Security roadmap, aligning it with quarterly business and engineering priorities
• Identify critical technical challenges, design scalable solutions, and lead execution from concept to rollout
  
  

Architecture, Cloud & Cost Optimization

• Lead hands-on technical initiatives, including POCs and tool evaluations
• Own AWS infrastructure strategy with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and cost optimization
• Establish standards for infrastructure-as-code, environment management, and deployment strategies
  
  

Operations, Reliability & Incident Management

• Oversee cloud services, monitoring, and alerting with strong issue prevention and resolution practices
• Drive performance optimization, capacity planning, and reliability improvements
• Own incident management processes, postmortems, and continuous improvement actions
  
  

Security & Compliance (DevSecOps)

• Embed security by design across CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure
• Manage security controls, audits, and compliance requirements relevant to fintech and regulated environments
• Partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Compliance teams to balance speed, cost and risk
  
  

Data & Platform Management

• Oversee database infrastructure, including SQL platforms, clustering, migrations, backups, and availability strategies
• Ensure strong data security, resilience, and disaster recovery practices
  
  

Team Leadership & Culture

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing DevOps & Security team
• Establish best practices, promote knowledge sharing, and raise the overall engineering maturity
• Foster a culture of ownership, proactiveness, and continuous improvement
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in DevOps / Infrastructure / Platform Engineering, ideally in startups or strong tech companies
• Deep expertise with AWS cloud services and large-scale cloud infrastructure
• Strong experience with CI/CD and automation tools (e.g., GitHub, GoCD, Ansible, Chef)
• Hands-on expertise in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proven experience in DevSecOps, security compliance, and regulatory
• Solid background in database technologies (SQL, clustering, HA setups, migrations, snapshots, log shipping)
• Strong experience with monitoring and observability tools, preferably DataDog, Grafana and APM solutions
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex, high-impact incidents
• Ability to evaluate new technologies and make pragmatic, cost-aware decisions
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with full-stack development and understanding of multiple tech stacks
• Prior experience with Go and PHP frameworks
• Fintech domain experience or exposure to regulated financial systems
