Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Director of Career Planning and Development will lead the university's efforts in career guidance, professional development, and placement support for students and alumni. The role involves strategizing and implementing initiatives to enhance employability, industry engagement, and entrepreneurial ventures while maintaining strong relationships with corporate partners, alumni, and stakeholders.

Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive career services strategy aligned with the university's vision.
  2. Analyze employment trends and design programs to improve student employability.
  3. Foster a culture of career readiness and lifelong learning.

Career Guidance and Development

  1. Establish career counselling services, including resume reviews, mock interviews, and skill assessments.
  2. Design and deliver workshops, seminars, and training sessions focused on soft skills, technical skills, and personal branding.
  3. Partner with academic departments to integrate career planning into the curriculum.

Student Preparedness

  1. Conduct training to prepare students for competitive tests including Civil Services Examinations, Judicial Services Examinations, GATE, etc.
  2. Assess student preparedness periodically and recommend personalized action plans.
  3. Ensure National Eligibility Tests are taken by students and scores are analyzed (AMCAT, METTLE etc.)
  4. Monitor and ensure the readiness of students for placement processes through mock interviews, aptitude tests, and group discussions.
  5. Coordinate with the Office of International Affairs to prepare students for Higher Studies.
  6. Collaborate with the Office of International Affairs to assist students in their IELTS exam preparation.

Administration and Team Management

  1. Supervise the Career Planning and Development team, providing guidance and leadership.
  2. Manage budgets, reports, and data analytics to evaluate the success of career services programs.
  3. Ensure compliance with university policies and external regulations related to placements and internships.
