Director - Government Business & Government Affairs

Purpose Statement

  • To lead and reinforce BSC`s reputation as a partner of choice to Government and other stakeholders in enabling access to quality healthcare for patients.
  • Proactively develop and execute on public affairs strategies, leading influence of medical technology industry to secure prioritized access to BSc in Government funded healthcare programs. funding, pricing, and reimbursement support from authorities.
  • Lead the Government vertical business and HEMA function to secure reimbursement and create sustainable business model for BSc in India Subcontinent and drive industry leading position.

Key Responsibilities - Public Policy

  • The Director will conceptualize and lead policy, external relations across Government, Trade Associations, Bilateral and multilateral organizations, NGOs, and other relevant partners.
  • Build trusted relationships and credible influence with key decision makers and authorities at the National/State level to develop support for company's vision and priorities.
  • Work with decision makers in Government bodies to secure and continue favorable pricing regimes to accelerate patient access and accelerate growth for BSc therapies and products.
  • Conceptualize and execute with the Ministry of Health, NHA and other Centra/State authorities on various projects involving Public Private Partnerships (PPP) to support the larger objectives of the organization.
  • Provide insights into upcoming Policies & regulations and proactively influence the changes anticipated so that BSC adapts to the changes.

Government Business & Tenders

  • Create and maintain a robust tender tracking and monitoring system and processes to ensure transparency, proactive engagement, and controls.
  • Create trusted relationships and influence over policy/decision makers to communicate BSc products` economic value and outcomes and ensure their due representation in tender specifications.
  • Drive BSc`s business growth in Government vertical, along with business teams through engagement, training, strategic partnerships, and pricing approaches.
  • Ensure technical readiness and training to effectively participate in GEM and other national and state level tenders and maintain scorecards, win-loss metrics, and effective feedback to BSc teams.
  • Lead coordination between own team, business, functional and channel partner teams to enhance communication, prioritization, and winning spirit to succeed in Government business.

HEMA - Health Economics & Market Access

  • Work closely with APAC/Growth Markets HEMA and Clinical teams to provide HTA- HEOR and value proposition solutions to accelerate access to innovative therapies in BSc activity areas and secure viable reimbursement for BSC products.
  • Integration of health economics and reimbursement strategies into divisional marketing. Help effectively communicate clinical data, product experience, publications and value to policy makers, Government clinicians and reimbursement authorities.
  • Actively map, engage, and partner with stakeholders to accelerate the market access and reimbursement for BSc therapies and products.
  • To develop and direct strategic health economic and outcomes research programs within the Boston Scientific new product development process in conjunction with marketing, R&D and clinical.
  • Provides reimbursement, competitor and payer trends, insights & intelligence to internal business and functions.

  • Management/ Organizational: Lead Public Affairs, Government Business and HEMA team, in line with BSc core values and nurture a culture of collaboration and functional excellence.
