Job Summary
The Director of ASIC Verification will lead and scale the verification organization responsible for ensuring high-quality silicon delivery across complex SoC and ASIC programs. This role involves defining verification strategy, building high-performing teams, driving best practices in verification methodologies, and collaborating closely with architecture, design, and program management teams to ensure first-pass silicon success.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and mentor ASIC verification teams across multiple projects and geographies.
- Define and drive the overall verification strategy for complex SoC and ASIC programs.
- Build scalable verification frameworks, processes, and methodologies aligned with industry best practices.
- Partner with executive leadership on roadmap planning and technical direction.
Verification Execution
- Oversee development and execution of verification plans, testbenches, and coverage strategies.
- Ensure adoption of advanced verification methodologies such as UVM, SystemVerilog, and constrained-random verification.
- Drive functional coverage closure and verification sign-off for high-quality tape-outs.
- Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies to ensure schedule adherence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with architecture, RTL design, physical design, firmware, and validation teams to ensure design correctness.
- Interface with customers and stakeholders to align verification requirements and deliverables.
- Provide technical leadership during design reviews, verification planning, and debugging activities.
Process & Quality Improvement
- Establish best practices for regression infrastructure, automation, and continuous integration.
- Improve verification efficiency through reuse strategies, emulation, and formal verification.
- Drive metrics-based verification management including coverage, bug tracking, and quality metrics.
Team Building
- Recruit, develop, and retain top verification talent.
- Provide technical mentorship and career development opportunities for the verification team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in ASIC/SoC verification, including leadership roles.
- Strong expertise in SystemVerilog, UVM, and verification methodologies.
- Experience with simulation, emulation, and formal verification tools.
- Proven experience delivering multiple successful ASIC/SoC tape-outs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing large global verification teams.
