*This is a Pune, India based role. Working in the office 2-3 days per week isrequired.

About the team and role:

The SailPoint Data Platform powers our core Identity Security Cloud, the Identity Graph, and variousanalytics and machinelearning drivenproducts and services across SailPoint.

Our mission is to delivercutting-edge, reliable, and user-friendly infrastructure for data ingestion, storage, processing, andinteraction, enabling teams to build data-intensive applications with ease and success. This role overseestheData Engineering and Data Presentation groups as part of the SailPoint Data Platform. The teamprovides a fully managed Lakehouse solution powered by Snowflake and Apache Flink, a Service andData Catalog, and various custom-built services to manage data atmassivescale. Our platform supportsboth product and machine learning workloads across SailPoint, serving key products and organizationsincluding Identity Security Cloud, Non-Employee Risk Management, Machine Identity Security, AgentIdentity Security, Data AccessSecurity, andCloud Infrastructure and Entitlement Management.

Additionally, the groupis responsible forData Presentation powering full-text search capabilities in ouruser-facing products as well as Data Governance for ensuring data quality and lineage and is thecustodian of SailPoint's Enterprise Data Model.

You willcollaborate closely with cross-functional teams to lead the planning, execution, and success of technicalprojects, with a focus on enhancing the experience forSailPointsinternal customers. This role requires adeep understanding of scalable data systems, high-performance data pipelines, event streaming, andengineering instincts to turn conceptual data processing ideas into robust, reusable frameworks.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of software engineers specializing in Flink,Spark, Snowflake, Iceberg,Airflowand related technologies
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvementinlinewith SailPoint's4-Is cultural framework
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting their professionalgrowth
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, andidentifyopportunities for training anddevelopment
  • - Manage team workload, prioritize projects, and ensuretimelydelivery of high-quality solutions

Technical Strategy and Execution:

  • Define and execute the technical roadmap for our data platform, aligning with SailPoint's overalldata strategy
  • Drive innovation in data processing techniques, exploringnew technologiesand approaches toimprove performance, scalability, and efficiency
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust and scalable data pipelines using Flink /Spark,dbt, Airflow and Snowflake / Iceberg
  • Ensure the reliability, availability, and security of our data processing infrastructure
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate our data processing technologies with otherSailPoint systems and services

Stakeholder Management:

  • Partner with data scientists, data engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders tounderstand their data processing needs and requirements
  • Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technicalaudiences
  • Advocate for best practices in data processing and engineering;Manage expectations andensure alignment across different teams

Engineering Thought Leadership:

  • Know and evangelize what excellence looks like when it comes to high volume data processing
  • Represent SailPoint data platform innovations at external conferences
  • Deliver presentations and write blog posts highlighting SailPoint's leadership in big dataprocessing

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12+ years of software development experience, with a focus on data processing at scale
  • 8+ years ofengineering peoplemanagement experienceleading, mentoring, and growingteams. 3+ years of experience managing engineering managers
  • Deepexpertisein open-source data technologies like Apache Flink, Spark, Airflow, Iceberg andOpenSearch
  • Hands-on experience with data processing languages such as Java /Scalaand Python
  • Deep understanding of data pipeline performance, including partitioning, parallelism, serialization,clustering, scaling, and storage formats
  • Strong knowledge of modern data infrastructure including containers, orchestration, cloudcomputing (AWS / GCP / Azure), information retrieval, and distributed systems
  • Experience supporting high-volume, low-latency systems in highly regulated environments
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field of study
