Role Overview
We are looking for a senior Data Engineering leader with deep technical expertise and strong business acumen to lead and scale our Data Engineering practice. This role will own end-to-end delivery, revenue, and people management while working closely with GCC customers and senior stakeholders to drive large-scale data transformation programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and technical leadership across the data landscape, spanning Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and Big Data platforms.
- Own end-to-end delivery of Data Engineering engagements, which contribute to 95% of overall revenue.
- Lead solution design and architecture across data warehousing, data lakes, Spark, Databricks, and cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP).
- Act as a techno-functional leader, partnering with senior stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Manage and mentor Engineering Managers and senior technical leaders reporting into the role.
- Drive practice growth, delivery excellence, and operational efficiency across multiple programs.
- Own financial responsibilities, including P&L, margin management, and revenue forecasting (USD 15M portfolio).
- Collaborate closely with Global Capability Center (GCC) customers, ensuring successful program delivery and long-term partnerships.
- Establish best practices, governance, and standards for data engineering and platform development.
Required Skills & Experience
- 18+ years of experience across Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and Big Data ecosystems.
- Strong depth in Data Warehousing, Spark, Databricks, Data Lake architectures, and modern cloud platforms.
- Proven experience in hands-on solution design and large-scale implementation ownership.
- Extensive people management experience, including managing managers and building high-performing teams.
- Strong exposure to financial operations, including P&L and margin ownership.
- Experience working with GCC (Global Capability Center) customers and global stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate at executive levels.
