Job Description

Data Centers / Critical Environment Management (CEM) Operation Lead West Asia

What this job involves:

This is a key role to drive JLL's operational direction and leadership at the account, divisional, and regional level for Data Centers and Critical Environment Management (CEM) in West Asia.

  • Provide data center operational direction and leadership to advance JLL's Data Center capabilities and market share in FM and IT services, while promoting DC lifecycle products.
  • Focus on driving growth, ensuring 100% uptime, managing risk, and fostering innovation in sustainability and technology within the critical environment space.
  • Build strong working relationships with key client representatives and promote JLL's DC / CE Management expertise that covers FM Ops, Solutions Development, Consulting, Transaction Management or Leasing and Project Management; and Support them to convert Sales opportunities into successful IFM Accounts for JLL.
  • Implement standard business operating mechanisms such as regular team meetings, strategic review forums, training conferences and regular analysis and reporting processes to ensure team engagement and alignment and to provide an effective and efficient business operation in Data Center FM.
  • Responsible to drive operational excellence within Hub of critical accounts focusing on financial and operational performance/compliance
  • Ownership of account deployments impacting financial profile and operational delivery
  • Provide DC / CE solutions and new business transition support leading complex engagements and transformation programs in high risk environments.
  • Monitor market trends and changes to ensure that JLL provides industry best practice in the delivery of DC FM Operations.
  • Provide ownership of all DC/CE managed space within a designated area.
  • Act as subject matter expert and single point of contact for DC / CE operational management within your assigned responsibility.
  • Consult with clients and account leadership with all aspects of data center operations, management, account expansions and design.
  • Maintain effective communications with external and internal clients, technical personnel and key management.
  • Protect the health and Safety of staff and others by adhering to and developing guidelines and strategies
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations related to engineering assets leveraging YGP.
  • Ensure compliance with JLL programs and audit programs and participate in TSSO community initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment and compliance to established Policies and Standard Operating Procedures for the management of the client's Critical Environment.
  • Drive Innovation & New Technology to support and optimize DC / CE Facility Operations
  • Conduct audits to ensure that all Safety procedures, including disaster recovery and business continuity plan, operation procedure and escalation procedures are in place and maintained.
  • Adhere to Jones Lang LaSalle's business conduct by ensuring compliance with the firm's guidelines, procedures, and strategies.
  • Support the Account Business where SME skills are required outside of Account BAU activity, specifically with critical environments such as data centres, trading floors or business critical systems.
  • Position could require up to 40% travel.

The role will also be required to support in developing new Engineering products and services, that respond to market requirements and changing dynamics and that will lead to successful business results for JLL in delivering Engineering Services.

Technically Competent

For this position we are looking for someone who is qualified with Electrical or Mechanical engineering and well versed with utility engineering,

  • For this position, we seek a highly motivated individual with +10 years experience as an engineering and operations leader in Integrated Facilities Management.
  • Management of Critical Environments and Data center portfolio as part of overall engineering management experience.
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience leading/managing a large, complex and geographically-disperse team.
  • Strong verbal and written (report) communications skills; superior presentation skills.
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess a high-level project and contract management skills.
  • The ability to train support employees on energy best practices and procedures.
  • Technically proficient in operations of Building Management Systems, HVAC, Life Safety Systems, CMMS, Microsoft Office, Power Point, Visio, and Microsoft Outlook software.
  • Ability to develop strategy, translate concepts & strategies into actionable plans and achieve sustainable change and improvements through effective project management.
  • Proven track records of achieving results despite facing challenges.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams and good interaction with Senior and Executive Leadership Teams

Engineering and Operations Program Management

  • Work closely with the Account management to implement JLL's Engineering and
  • Operations platform across the sub-regions.
  • Work closely with the Country IFM Leads, Solution Development Leads, Head of Critical Environments APAC and Director Engineering Operations to assess market opportunities in this sector and provide SME leadership in Client proposals and presentations for new work and renewal of existing client accounts.
  • Provide strategic leadership and develop and implement the 5-year strategic plan for Engineering Services in West Asia.
  • Ensure the delivery of Learning & Development for essential operational requirements for IFM Teams across HUBs.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for external speaking engagements on the topics of Engineering Services.
  • Provide feedback on Critical Environment Management Playbook in order to keep it updated.
  • Drive deployment and implementation of the playbook principles in accounts with CEs.
  • Optimize Operations & Maintenance functions, including Continuous Commissioning initiatives.
  • Maintain an up-to-date Data Base of Critical Environment across all accounts in the hubs of West Asia.

People Management

  • Understand skills/resources available and effectively delegate to and leverage talent most effectively for business-as-usual.
  • Manage regular regional conference calls to ensure goals, issues, changes/updates are effectively communicated throughout the organization.
  • Create annual Individual Performance Measurement Process (IPMP) templates in conjunction with Human Resources for all nominated positions. Work with the Director Engineering and Operations Solutions HUBs to ensure that IPMP program is completed within Human Resources requirements.

Relationship Management

  • Understand both the client and JLL org charts and effectively manage relationships with key stakeholders / clients.
  • Maintain strong relationships with all JLL stakeholders including other the Business Line Leaders in West Asia.

Financial Management

  • Provide input into annual budget preparation process and monthly financial reporting processes.
  • Support the organization to achieve the revenue Targets are achieved in accordance approved budgets and JLL revenue recognition requirements.

Legal and Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure that IFM teams are operating within statutory EH&S requirements and that all local reporting is being completed as required on a monthly or quarterly basis. Maintain records as required by audit process.
  • Ensure that all IFM Client Accounts are performing regular testing of equipment & building fire life Safety systems as mandated by JLL/client policy and/or local statutory requirements. Use the JCAP program to ensure that.
