Responsibilities

We are looking for a seasoned Business Finance Head to lead the business finance function and act as a strategic partner to business leadership. The role involves co-owning P&L, driving financial discipline, enabling growth decisions, and strengthening governance across business verticals. This position requires strong commercial acumen, leadership maturity, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

1. P&L Leadership

• Co-own P&L along with Business Heads
• Drive profitability, margins and cost optimization initiatives
• Monitor financial performance and ensure achievement of business targets
• Establish financial guardrails and accountability across functions

2. Strategic Business Partnering

• Act as a trusted advisor to business leadership
• Evaluate new business opportunities, expansion plans and commercial proposals
• Provide financial insights for strategic decision-making
• Support pricing strategy, scheme evaluations and portfolio management

3. Planning & Performance Governance

• Lead annual operating plans and periodic business reviews
• Track key performance metrics and identify business drivers
• Drive corrective actions through structured performance reviews
• Ensure financial hygiene across P&L and balance sheet

4. Commercial & Operational Excellence

• Review agreements, tenders and key commercial negotiations
• Optimize working capital, receivables and cost structures
• Drive process improvements, automation and system strengthening
• Ensure strong compliance, audit readiness and governance frameworks

5. Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and mentor the business finance team
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders across sales, marketing, supply chain and operations
• Present business performance and insights to senior leadership
• Build a high-performance, accountable finance culture

• Chartered Accountant / MBA with 1215 years of post-qualification experience, preferably across industries such as Retail, B2B, FMCG, Healthcare, Consumer Durables, Telecom, or E-commerce
• Candidates with a consulting background looking to transition into business roles are welcome to apply
• Experience in leading and managing teams of qualified finance professionals, with the ability to build, mentor, and scale high-performing teams
• Strong technical grounding in IndAS, Direct and Indirect Taxation, with a sharp understanding of compliance and governance frameworks
• Demonstrated ability to operate across the width of the business while going deep where required, enabling both strategic and operational decision-making
• Ability to abstract, prioritize, and synthesize information, bringing clarity in ambiguous and high-stakes situations
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with structured communication and clarity of thought
• A forward-thinking mindset, anticipating risks and opportunities, and proactively shaping business outcomes
