Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 15 years of experience managing engineering teams in an organization
  • Experience in recruiting and building a software development team in India
  • Experience deploying ERP systems for enterprises

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in SAP for large enterprises
  • Experience in enterprise software development and deployment
  • Domain experience in one or more of the following: finance, first-part application development, application support, machine learning, large-scale distributed systems

About The Job

Google's Corporate Engineering (CorpEng) team builds and implements enablement technologies for Google's workforce. As the Director, you will be responsible for finance works building talent pool across SAP, system operations, release management, and testing. You will lead a team of dedicated and talented Application Engineers, Business Systems Analysts, Software Engineers, and Program Managers to support multiple finance functions like IT asset management, payroll, Finance Works (FinCore), etc. In addition, you will be the site leader for the Works organization. In this role, you will be a strong advocate for the site and lead initiatives to ensure a strong team culture across the various teams (Finance, People Operations, Building Operations, Marketing, etc.) within the site and also across organization in CorpEng.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an application engineering team to configure, implement, and support multiple SAP modules/applications. Lead a software engineering team for first-party applications.
  • Develop and manage integrations between SAP and other Google developed applications.
  • Develop and execute a roadmap to build key capabilities for development operations such as release management, change management, software deployment, automated testing, etc.
  • Evaluate third-party products and participate in and recommend build/buy decisions for some parts of the solution. Lead the site for new projects and organize events to facilitate cross-team collaboration.
  • Be responsible for hiring, coaching, and developing the engineering team that you will manage. Be responsible for developing a vibrant culture for the entire team at the site.
